The company, BeCloud was founded in the year 2011 by James L. Phipps Jr. We had the opportunity to have a candid talk with James L. Phipps Jr., and know a few more things about the company and about the company’s future undertaking.
Why was the company set up? How did you select the vertical and decide to be a part of the global platform?
BeCloud was setup to provide affordable, efficient and scalable technology solutions for all verticals and business sizes. Our goal is to provide a one stop shop for all your technology needs and management. Because you can easily order services from our website and due to the power of the cloud, we have gained clients and attention from all over the world.
How successful was your first project roll on? Share the experience?
It passed as a very successful one. Our customers are still utilizing our services after implementation for great returns on investment.
Our IT cost optimization model for our premium products provides a predictive “Flat Fee” managed service. This continues to help customers optimize IT Cost throughout the lifecycle. BeCloud utilizes scripting, off the shelf or custom applications and agile development methodologies to deliver maximized business value. Lastly, but not least BeCloud utilizes various technologies to reduce risk by monitoring and proactive or predictive maintenance of our solutions.
What challenges did you face in your initial years? What can your peers learn from it?
Well, hiring mistakes probably hurt us the most during our initial years. It is not just the technical prowess that changes a solution provider’s trajectory but also the dedication to customer satisfaction, issue resolution and relationship management. Those skills are now valued necessities in our new hires.
What do you feel are the reasons behind?
Your product popularity – Our staff is very attentive with customers’ details thus, routinely goes the extra mile to complete projects on time and under budget.
Your consistence growth as an organization – Our growth can be attributed to our great reputation with current customers. When customers speak highly of us to their friends they seek our services at the first opportunity.
How big is your organization today? Briefly explain the organizational structure.
We utilize a small consolidated staff to meet our client needs by implementing technology in our Project Management, Service Delivery, Monitoring and Maintenance. We have three main teams: 1st level support which manages tickets, orders and front line phone support. 2nd level support is more on service delivery including implementation, maintenance and onsite support. 3rd level is “Management and Engineering” this is Supervisory, Project Management and Engineering. We have an outside sales team as well.
Are there any trigger factors/events/individuals that have played key roles in shaping your organization’s road map?
The accelerated adoption rates of Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, and Google has us moving some of our workloads to those services and out of the traditional data centers.
How do you and your company contribute to the global IT platform and society at large?
There are some open source projects that we are using and we plan to contribute more to those communities in the future. The BeCloud team is very active in the local community as far as offering internships, free seminars, working with youth programs, and even donating money to local non-profit organizations.
Do you have any new products ready to be/getting ready to be rolled out into the market?
We are stepping up our AWS consulting business. We have move some workloads successfully to the service.

Heavy cloud implementation/security consultants, and software programmers.
