Brief us about your initial products.

Prior to launching BI360 Cloud, we developed two products in the same category. Enterprise Reporting was built in the mid-nineties and got acquired by Microsoft. Excel Reporter was built in the early 2000’s and was acquired by SAP. The accumulated knowledge from both of these prior products embodies a lot of best practices that are included in today’s BI360 Cloud solution.

How successful was your first project launch?

We have a three-step process to reduce risk for early adopters and to maximize feedback to our development team. We first have a beta program, then an invitation-only rollout to pre-qualified companies that will have the highest ROI and benefits from the current release and functionality. Our final step is to make the solution generally available to the marketplace. Therefore, our first product rollouts are successful because of our process.

What aided you in setting up this company?

All of the executives come from different roles in finance, planning, analysis, and IT in different businesses. They brought this experience and the CPM needs they saw while working in their prior businesses to establish Solver and later, BI360 as an award-winning solution.

Nils Rasmussen, CEO: As the CEO of Solver, Nils Rasmussen is responsible for the development of both overall company strategy as well as global expansion. Nils founded Solver, Inc. in December, 1996. Since then, he has led the Solver team to complete close to 2,000 implementations worldwide. Prior to this, he worked in international sales and consulting roles in various countries. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and an author of numerous BI books.
