As e-cigarettes become more popular, fewer people are taking up smoking traditional cigarettes. But can e-cigarettes, an electronic nicotine delivery system, help people quit smoking altogether? That was the focus of a recent study led by a Hollings Cancer Center researcher.
The study found that smokers who are willing to use e-cigarettes tend to smoke less and have increased quit attempts, said Matthew Carpenter, Ph.D., a tobacco control and addiction expert at the cancer center at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Ahsan Bawa, IVG Premium E-Liquids CEO, spoke exclusively to The Silicon Review. Below is an excerpt.
Why was the company set up? How did you select the vertical and decide to be a part of the global platform?
We saw an opportunity not only to establish a successful company but to help those wanting to quit smoking. At the time I was the CEO of a Law Firm and thus decided to start IVG as another project on the side. Now, we have become one of the world’s leading brands offering a wide range of Premium E-liquids to our customers, and we ship hundreds of thousands of products every month worldwide.
How successful was your first project roll on? Share the experience.
Since our first official launch in London back in 2016, the IVG brand has been received with a lot of love and enthusiasm from the people. Since then, we have been constantly evolving and becoming bigger and better. The numbers don’t lie and the love IVG has received from day one and from all around the globe has been overwhelming. We have fast become one of the most sought-after premium E-liquid brands on the global market today.
What were the grounds on which you have expanded your company and its offerings over the years?
From the outset, we have been simple. Our products have to taste the best and have to be of the highest premium quality with no expense spared on the ingredients, with maximum presence across the globe in order to encourage as many people as possible to vape and refrain from harmful tobacco. If there is a major vape show/exhibition anywhere in the world you can bet on IVG being there! When people try our products they are always blown away by the taste, especially with our candy/sweets flavours. Simple products made with the best ingredients that taste amazing. What more can a vaper ask for? We are simply trying to make things easier for smokers to move away from smoking harmful tobacco.
What is your company’s vision statement? And to what extent are you successful in achieving the same?
Our vision is to be the number one vaping brand in the world and play an active role worldwide in order to help people quit smoking which is harmful. We want everyone around the world to have access to our e-liquids. In order to achieve that we recognize that it will involve a lot more hard work and manpower, however, we have both of those in abundance at the IVG headquarters.
Two-way communication is the key. Employees need to feel they have an outlet for sharing their observations and ideas, is this true with your company?
We have an open door policy. We have daily team meetings where each employee can share their ideas/suggestions. In fact, every day a different team member gets to lead the meeting so everyone gets an opportunity to not only have a say in company policies but also lead the discussions. These brainstorming sessions are when some of the greatest ideas are formulated. We really do believe that each and every member of the team plays an important and pivotal role in the company’s overall success.
Moreover, with our current rate of expansion not only do we have new vacancies being created everyday but new managerial roles are also being created. For example, we had a graphic design graduate who started working with our sales team. He did very well and enjoyed the job but his true passion was design as it was something he had obtained a degree in. As soon as an opportunity presented itself within our design department he was moved across and today he is one of our main creative designers. We are not only happy for our employees to achieve their personal goals and grow individually as people but encourage them to do so as they are a vital part of the company’s success.
‘It is difficult to start a venture, but far more difficult to maintain it’. How would you and your team interpret this saying?
We beg to differ; the most difficult part is taking the plunge into starting something new. Once you’re in a position where you’re doing well, the number of opportunities you see before you increase. You just have to stay grounded and continue to value and remember what got you to that point; staff, hard work and commitment.
Do you have any new products ready to beto be rolled out into the market?
We have just recently released our POPS range and the feedback has been amazing. We consistently introduce new products and new flavours. We would like to thank everyone for supporting us.
Where do you see your company a couple of years from now?
We see IVG as one of the largest premium e-liquid brands on the market and a major contributing factor for people to stop smoking.
