Whether it’s FTTP, Cell Backhaul, Distributed Antenna, Node Collapse or Other Premise or Commercial Environment, Clearfield, Inc. Is Your Fiber Connectivity Specialist

thesiliconreview-cheri-beranek-president-ceo-clearfield-incClearfield is a different kind of Company – it doesn’t just focus on delivering the best possible product to its customers, but it looks at changing the way customers do business in order to reduce the cost of Gigabit Broadband. Clearfield designs manufacture and distribute fiber optic management products, helping service providers reduce the high costs associated with deploying, managing, protecting and scaling a fiber optic network to deliver the mobile, residential and business services customers want.

Based on the patented Clearview® Cassette, the company’s unique single-architected, modular fiber management platform is designed to lower the cost of broadband deployment and maintenance while enabling its customers to scale their operations as their subscriber revenues increase.

With more than 70% of the cost of fiber connectivity associated with the labor to deploy it, Clearfield’s job is to ensure its customers reduce not only the amount of labor but also the skill level required. Further, the company knows that modular, scalable deployment is necessary for cash flow optimization – For those service providers looking for a better way, FieldSmart® from Clearfield allows them to align their capital equipment spend alongside their subscriber take rates.

“Ask anyone in our company and they will tell you that we are THE fiber management choice, for reasons even beyond our product. We enjoy an environment where we work hard and play hard, and at the end of a long and successful work day, we’re the ones you want to hang out with, get in a boat or head out on the trails with.”

The Heart of It All: The Clearview Cassette

No matter which product line a company is using or whether it’s networking in the Inside Plant, Outside Plant or In-Building, everything Clearfield do is based on the architecture of the Clearview Cassette. While it’s designed to fulfill all the “musts” of fiber management, the cool thing is that the technicians learn it once and then the cassette becomes like using legos - simply rearranging the pieces, depending on the fiber network solution!

Clearfield keeps it Simple

The Clearfield design philosophy is the difference between the pen and the pencil. Designing a pen when a pencil will do only increases the cost to the customer with no real added benefit. Ensuring that the basic rules of fiber management are met and reliably maintained, simple, yet innovative, features are only added when the benefit results in lower deployment costs through reduced installation and service turn-up time, elimination of other material costs and total cost of ownership.

When it comes to distribution, consolidation, management, and protection of fiber, nothing comes close to Clearfield’s stream-lined, practical approach. Designed for scalable fiber deployment, craft-friendly operation, and unsurpassed performance, Clearfield’s simplicity in design delivers the lowest total cost of ownership.

Clearfield's Fiber Product Lines

Clearfield sets the standard for fiber performance with FiberDeep® cable assemblies while lowering the cost of broadband deployment with the FieldSmart® fiber management platform and the CraftSmart® OSP enclosure system.

FieldSmart is the only fiber management platform to be designed around a single architecture – Clearview® Blue and the small count Clearview xPAK – for the inside plant, outside plant, and access network. FieldSmart supports a wide range of panel and cabinet configurations, densities, connectors and adapter options, and are offered alongside an assortment of passive optical components.

CraftSmart is the industry’s only field enclosure system optimized for fiber deployment at the network’s last miles access point. This thermoplastic above and below-grade enclosures provide turn-key physical fiber protection for passive optical networks.

FiberDeep guarantees .2dB or less insertion loss on every single mode patch cord and 12-fiber assembly deployed within the Clearview Cassette. No longer considered a commodity in today’s cable plant, 4G networks require superior performance standards – and Clearfield delivers fiber connectivity products to ensure consistent reliability.

WaveSmart® Optical Components are custom-built for the unique light requirements and interoperability needs of PON splitting, fiber exhaust scenarios and coarse and dense division multiplexing. Clearfield delivers unparalleled fiber performance with its optical components.

Installing fiber cost-effectively is the promise of the FieldShield Optical Fiber Protection Platform. Regardless of the application, FieldShield takes fiber through the fields and streets to the home or business, up the tower to the antenna or throughout the riser to the data center or desk. Used in conjunction with Clearfield's FieldSmart fiber management solutions for the central office, outside plant and access network, FieldShield protects fiber through every distribution point of the network.

“With a variety of products, Clearfield is your answer for fiber network needs. We’ve sharpened our pencil – delivering superior form, fit and function at a price point unmatched in the industry.”
