Luc Eric KRIEF, CEO of New World Wind, spoke exclusively to The Silicon Review about how his company stays at the forefront of advancing global energy solutions for a greener and more sustainable future.

Please tell us about the circumstances or events that led to the founding of New World Wind (NWW).

New World Wind (NWW) was founded in 2017 following the bankruptcy of New Wind, the innovator behind the aeroleaf concept. As a former supplier to New Wind, I held a deep interest in their solutions. Determined to continue their legacy, I undertook substantial efforts to optimize manufacturing conditions, both in terms of technology and cost efficiency. Leveraging my expertise, I developed and enhanced the concept to bring to market an exceptionally efficient solution.

Q. As a game-changer in the global energy sector, what are NWW’s key focus areas?  

Our primary focus at New World Wind revolves around windmill technologies, particularly micro turbines. Why? Because we strongly believe that “micro grids” represent the most efficient way to provide energy. By generating energy in close proximity to customers, we eliminate the need for extensive civil works, enabling installation within urban areas or wherever energy is required.

One key advantage of our micro turbine solutions is their ability to generate energy continuously—24/7. This means a consistent and reliable power source, ensuring that our systems meet the energy needs of our customers at all times. By embracing micro turbine technology, we aim to offer efficient, sustainable, and accessible energy solutions tailored to the demands of modern living.

Q. What strategies does NWW implement to exceed client expectations?

Research and Development (R&D) holds paramount importance for us at New World Wind, and we persistently allocate 10% of our income towards pioneering new technologies. A testament to this commitment is our upcoming release—an advanced generator with a capacity of 1000W, a significant leap from the current 300W offering. This investment reflects our dedication to being at the forefront of micro wind turbine solutions, aspiring to provide the best and most efficient options in the industry.

Q. Can you introduce us to your products? What are their main features?  

Our primary product, the Aeroleaf, boasts incredible adaptability. We offer eight distinct biomorphic “trees,” each designed to host between 12 to 36 Aeroleafs. Additionally, the versatility extends further – Aeroleafs can be seamlessly installed on various structures such as building rooftops, warehouses, petrol stations, telecom towers, and more. There are no limits to where the Aeroleaf can be integrated. Key features of this innovative solution include its silent operation, bird-friendly design, customizable options, and affordability. These qualities make the Aeroleaf an exceptional choice for sustainable energy in a wide array of environments.

Q. Can you provide us with one or two success stories, detailing specific client challenges and how NWW’s solutions contributed to their success?   

One of our success stories involves A prominent racehorse stud owner in Sweden, known for his passion for horses, faced the challenge of finding a sustainable and cost-effective energy solution to power his facilities.

We proposed a tailored solution, a hybrid system incorporating our innovative Aeroleaf technology along with solar panels. Recognizing the need for a reliable and efficient energy source close to the horse shelters, we recommended the installation of five units within the stud.

The implementation of our solution not only significantly reduced the client’s energy costs but also provided a sustainable and continuous power supply. The silent operation of the Aeroleaf turbines ensured minimal disruption to the horses, aligning with the client’s commitment to their well-being. This success story exemplifies how NWW’s solutions can be customized to meet unique challenges, providing clients with efficient, eco-friendly, and cost-effective energy solutions tailored to their specific needs.

Q. What new endeavors is NWW currently undertaking?  

While we’re still in the early stages of our journey, our international presence is already notable. Having sold over 130 units worldwide, we’ve made significant strides in introducing our solutions across the globe. This accomplishment marks just the beginning of our story.
