Interview Highlights
Please tell us about the circumstances or events that led to the founding of Gride Technology.
Through unwavering consistency, I was motivated to establish yet another ride-sharing enterprise.
When I arrived in the United States in 2012, my goal was to follow the American dream by creating jobs. I didn’t want to remain just an immigrant taking part in the construction of the economy; I wanted to help the Haitian community thrive. In 2015, a close friend of mine faced significant difficulties and lost everything he had. One of the ways he thought he could resolve his problem was by taking a taxi to earn some money. One day, we crossed paths at a bus stop, where he disclosed that his earnings since morning amounted to a mere $5. Regrettably, his blemished record prevented him from working for ride-sharing companies.
I inquired why he hadn’t considered launching his own ride-sharing company. Subsequently, I borrowed some money, providing him with the initial capital to begin, even though I had no prior experience in this industry. But as an entrepreneur, when I start something, I don’t back down. My greatest strength is my determination. In 2015, I had to put this project on hold due to insufficient funds. But I launched several subsequent endeavors, including Kingdom International Consulting and GMO International Consulting, as replacements for Kingdom. I also ventured into the real estate sector, establishing multiple enterprises focused on property transactions. Currently, I am developing another project called Guacanagaric Group Investment (GIG).
Gride Technology was established under the umbrella of the GMO enterprise. As the saying goes, ‘wherever we set foot, we must take it as an inheritance, participate in development, and create wealth and well-being for society.’ We are developers, and Gride is a small project that stands out among all the others you may have encountered.
