Facebook Added One More Feathe...Find it difficult to share link on Facebook via mobile phone? Well, no more. Facebook has come up with a feature that simplifies the process.
Facebook has added a new button in its iOS app. The new feature is called “add a link” and it appears as a link icon in the lower bar while composing a status update. People will be able to search for videos, articles and other links that have previously been shared on Facebook by tapping it. The feature will help people view the articles and embed one in your status update with a single tap.
According to Tom Whitnah, Facebook engineering manager, though it is not clear that how many links are in Facebook’s database, but they’re culled from the company’s index of roughly one trillion posts.
Facebook hackathon, an event in which engineers and other employees create products and tools outside of their usual work, gave the idea to Facebook to bring this new feature for the people.
The “add a link” is currently available in Facebook’s iOS app in the U.S. Whitnah said that a version for Android and Facebook Messenger is in the works.
Where Facebook is planning to publish outside media companies’ articles directly in the News Feed, starting on iOS, what can be the more perfect time for introducing application features like this? The link-sharing feature could help users to spread the Facebook contents around, keeping users active as Facebook is trying to more broadly index the variety of content posted to its site. Some of the other new features are like the ability to search for past posts.
