Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) cloud streaming rights have been obtained by Xbox; however, Microsoft clarified that the agreement is non-exclusive and will not permit PC streaming. The streaming rights were revealed around a month after Microsoft revealed some significant modifications to Xbox Cloud Gaming. Microsoft limits the streaming hours to 15 hours for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users, 10 hours for Premium subscribers, and only five hours for Game Pass Essential starting in November, the month GTA 6 is going to release.

Matthew Ball, the Xbox CSO wrote on X, “While the excitement for GTA VI and XBOX is great to see, it has also led to some misreporting. We are looking forward to launching GTA VI on XBOX November 19, though the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC.”

The announcement came right after the significant August 27–28 release of "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look," a 27-minute video analysis that first appeared on Netflix before going viral on YouTube. The extensive universe of Vise City, the two characters Jason and Lucia, and intricate gameplay mechanics were all presented in this graphic showcase. Microsoft clarified that the cloud streaming collaboration is non-exclusive and limited to Xbox platforms, despite early claims that the Xbox streaming contract will exclusively offer the game to PC players on day one. PC users will still have to wait for a native release.

The game will retail for £69.99 in the UK and $79.99 in the US. The ultimate edition, which includes more vehicles and weapons, will cost £89.99 and $99.99, respectively. Instead of a disk, physical copies of the game will come in a box with a code for a digital download. Given the popularity of GTA Online, Rockstar has not yet announced if an improved online mode would be available as soon as GTA 6 opens, but it is probably going to happen eventually.

Despite early speculations of PC availability, the non-exclusive Xbox cloud streaming arrangement guaranties GTA 6 access for console users at launch on November 19. This collaboration, which follows the huge August 28 "Extended Look" gameplay video launch, strengthens Microsoft's platform ecosystem while keeping PC users waiting for a native release.
