Gaming fanatics definitely have cause to celebrate this October. Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft’s famous game series is all set to release its latest title, named Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on the 5th of October. This game will be a successor to Assassin’s Creed Origins, which was released in 2017. It will be the eleventh installment in the series and will be available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. Additionally, it will also be released for the Nintendo Switch in Japan.

It will highlight the role-playing feature more than any of its predecessors, with alternatives for dialogues and quests whose direction can be changed. Moreover, it will also have multiple endings. In other words, players will have lots of control over the course of the story and join one of two rival factions. The story is set in about 430 BC in Greece, during the time of the Peloponnesian War. Players can control a mercenary to fight either for the Delian League, led by Athens or the Peloponnesian League, led by Sparta.

With an aim to bring more diversity and inclusiveness, players can also choose the gender of the playable character and will be able to cultivate romantic relationships with non-playable characters of both sexes. The game will feature naval battles with warships of the era to explore the Aegean Sea. Through various mercenary contracts and battles, players can change the control of a faction over a region and progress in the storyline.

The Assassin’s Creed franchise has sold over 100 million copies and is one of the highest selling video games franchises of all time.
