Mitsubishi Launches a New Cybe...With the increasing popularity of vehicles that are equipped for connection to external networks, these vehicles are vulnerable to cyberattacks; therefore cyber security must be taken seriously.
Japanese car maker, Mitsubishi has created a new multi-layered defense technology for safeguarding connected vehicles against cyberattacks. The new development prevents cyberattacks in the vehicles by boosting their head unit’s defense system. The announcement was made public on Monday.
The new technology has a wide range of security features like a system for spotting intrusion without high-load processing and a secure-boot technology for verifying software reliability during the boot process. All these combined together will safeguard the vehicles against possible cyberattacks.
Important features of the new technology
The multi-layered defense technology spots possible cyberattacks sphere heading towards the vehicle and the automotive head unit. It also minimizes the load processing by keeping an eye on attack activities.
While, the conventional techniquesrequires more time to carry out the boot process, but the new technology will take 10 percent less time. It will securely check the reliability of the software which is embedded in the automotive head unit.
The new technology provides strong security to the vehicle by supporting the security functions of the automotive head unit, the vehicle’s primary connection with the internet.
The technology was originally created for critical infrastructures like natural gas, chemical and water, natural gas and petroleum for vehicles and only need minimum machine resources.
