Cisco opens two new Centres in...Cisco has opened two new centers in Singapore last week. The first center is the CO-Innovationcenter and the second one is thecybersecuritycenter.
The inauguration of the two centers was carried out by Chng Kai Fong, MD of Singapore’s Economic Development Board.
The centers are situated in the company’s office in Mapletree Business City II which covers an area of 80,000 square foot. Mapletree Business City II is an open plan office made for handling creative “accidental collisions”. The centers are made to accelerate development and tech innovations.
Inside the Co-Innovation center, there will be both physical and virtual laboratories. They will be used for conducting proof of concept development, testing,and experiments. Apart from that, the Co-innovation Centre will integrate several government organizations, customers, industrial partners, app makers, start-ups, accelerators, and universities. All of them will work together to solve problems that are unique to the region. The main focus will be on IoT and cybersecurity.
On the other hand, Cisco’s Cybersecuritycenter of excellence will help the company to expand its security and intelligence research in the Asia-Pacific region.
Cisco is helping the country’s government and business to drive innovation in the field of cybersecurity. Apart from that, the company is also helping students to train them for IT jobs of the future.
The company also joined hands with the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore through a Memorandum of Collaboration.
The new move by Cisco will boost the IT scenario in Singapore.
