SAP and Apple to help Clients in building Business Applications

SAP and Apple to help Clients in building Business Applications
The Silicon Review
08 May, 2019

SAP and Apple will assist clients to build their independent mobile business applications, Reuters reported on Tuesday. In the partnership, Apple will use its ML technology to carry out the development. The new development, with AR, will help clients to use iPhones or iPads to carry out business tasks, such as repairing machinery and stocking shelves precisely.

Two years back, SAP joined hands with the Cupertino-giant to produce revamp mobile apps for its current range of products, including expense management and HR, to operate natively on iOS OS. Native apps are built specifically for a particular platform or device. Therefore, native apps operate more smoothly than cloud or web-based apps made to work across multiple platforms.

According to both the companies, the partnership is now being expanded across SAP’s wider range of portfolio for apps, including segments such as procurement. The applications can also be operated on Apple’s Mac computer range.

People familiar with the matter said in an SAP event called Sapphire annual U.S. user conference that the Cupertino-giant’s primary ML technology would enable companies to develop apps on SAP’s Leonardo platform.

The German software company is shifting from running companies’ inner workings towards a more end-user-focused approach, backed by its $8 billion acquisition of Qualtrics, an American company.

The new initiative will assist the clients of both companies.
