Apple executive is of the opin...In the wake of the wildfires that had caused unimaginable horrors in California last month, a lot of companies have been looking out for environmental concerns and how to reduce them. In a recent statement, the CEO of Apple’s environmental efforts, Lisa Jackson, was recorded saying that the United States need to upgrade their out-dated energy system and come up with ideas that are more sustainable and environmentally friendly in order to prevent further harm to the earth’s atmosphere.
Lisa Jackson, Apple's vice president of environment, policy and social initiatives, said, “The US's energy system was meant to bring power to as many people as possible, as quickly as possible. But wildfires in California highlight the need to invest in technology to improve that system and make it more resilient.Investing in our energy system is much more forward looking than defending the old systems. A new energy system is what we need."
Apple has recently met its goal of running its workings with 100% clean energy in 2018. The company is headquartered in California, a state that has pledged to replace electricity with carbon-free power sources by 2045.
