Anonymous trip has caused more than half a million porcine products to be recalled on the basis that they were being traded without inspection and hence they might not adhere to the standards set by the FDA. The incident has occurred in Illinois, USA where a various products including pork loin, pork back ribs and pork chops were provided to retailers for sale for the necessary measures. The products were called back for a company called Morris Meat Packing which is based in the area.
The 515,000 pounds of raw pork items were produced and distributed in Illinois. They were produced between November 25, 2017 to November 9, 2019. The products subject to recall bear establishment number 'EST. 18267' inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to distributors and retail locations in Illinois. We received an anonymous tip that the company was producing products without inspection," the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service said.
Untreated pork can cause many infections including those caused due to tapeworms and such which can have very adverse results on the health. Pork meat is consumed as it is a very rich source of many vitamins and minerals includingzinc, vitamin B12, vitamin B6, niacin and thiamine.
