The next version of Windows 10 is all set to be out by spring this year and Microsoft’s digital assistant Cortana is expected to lose some of its consumer skills that cover connected homes and music. Some of the third party skills will also be removed and Cortana fans are surprised by this move from Microsoft. Cortana support will be turned off by Microsoft for its Launcher on Android by the last week of April. The older version of Windows already reached its end-of-service date (36 months after release). The company made an announcement last year in which they stated that they think Cortana will be of great use for business users and the newer version of Cortana is all about productivity.

The new suite of office tools will have deep integration and the consumer service is being used only as a distraction to exit the market and make way for the likes of Google and Amazon. The new experience provided by Cortana will be focusing on Microsoft 365, a popular subscription tool that comes with necessary email, office tools, online storage and much more. Few consumer features might be gone but still, Cortana would be able to tell a joke, says Microsoft.
