Vaccines against the new coron...The US government officials have officially stated that the first participant in a clinical trial for a vaccine against the new Coronavirus will receive a clinical trial/experimental dose on Monday. The trial is being funded by the National Institute of Health, and the trial will be taking place at the Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute in Seattle. Though the officials disclosed plans for the first participant, the information about the participant is kept anonymous.
Public health officials stated that it will take approximately another year to 18 months to fully validate any potential vaccine. The testing will begin with 45 young, healthy volunteers with different doses of shots that are been co-developed by NIH and Moderna Inc. The officials also made it clear that there are no chances of participants getting infected from the shots because they don't contain the virus itself. The main aim of this clinical trial is to check that the vaccines show no harmful side effects and to set the stage for larger tests.
Many scientists and research scholars around the world are racing to create a vaccine as Covid-19 cases continue to grow. The scientists are pursuing vivid technologies to create an antidote that not only are faster to produce than traditional inoculations but might prove more potent. Along with the US other countries like China, India, UK, Israel, and Japan are working continuously to develop new vaccines for Coronavirus.
