Microsoft Azure to open new data centers in China to expand cloud network
The Silicon Review
04 March, 2021

Microsoft is all set to launch an additional Azure Cloud availability region in China. This will be the company's second new Asian data center region. In a recent announcement, the company has stated that it will also open a new data center region in Indonesia by the end of this year. The tech giant has also added that its most-awaited annual Ignite conference will be taking place this week virtually and will be bigger this time.

The firm is also announcing its new data-center at Ignite conference. It will speak about the general availability of Azure resources around different regions. These features provided by Azure will make it easier for users to move workloads. The new data center in Azure China will enable the users to use cloud services and Office 365, Dynamics 365, and Power BI. China North 3 will be the fifth Azure availability region in China.

Microsoft has said that these data centers' availability zones are unique and are located in locations with independent power, network, and cooling facilities. Each zone will comprise one or more data houses and infrastructure to support highly available and mission-critical applications to help domestic operators. Like China North 3, Microsoft will come up with multiple data centers in Indonesia for high-availability applications.
