Virgin Hotels CEO Richard Branson speaks about reopening of his new resort
The Silicon Review
23 March, 2021

At a news conference held in Las Vegas, Richard Branson made a flamboyant entry as the newest competitor in the hospitality sector. Branson, the founder, and CEO of the Virgin Group conglomerate and partners, announced various plans to overhaul its hospitality sector into a Virgin-branded resort. At the event, the British billionaire said that new owners would bring back some magic to set high standards in the hospitality sector.

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is all set to make a comeback after the coronavirus pandemic turned day-to-day life upside down. Virgin, scheduled to debut in fall 2020, has stated that it will open this Thursday after its roughly $200 million transformations from the Hard rock. Mr. Branson said that Hard rock is a highly successful brand, and he felt Las Vegas needed something unique. Therefore Virgin is partnering with it to create a difference.

He stated that the hotel would start functioning normally with increased safety measures from March 25. He aims to get back to the 50 percent capacity level by the end of March. The hotel business is seeing a slight improvement in recent times. The hotel rates are starting to return, and reopening this property will help contribute to the community by generating exciting offers, which generally happens when new resorts open.
