As part of acquisition, Sayana founder and CEO Sergey Fayfer will join Headspace Health and take on a product leadership role

Headspace Health has acquired Sayana, an AI-driven mental health and wellness company. This move will perk up Headsapce Health's ability to deliver personalized self-care content to its members globally.

Sayana has helped its members improve their mental wellness by helping them become more mindful of the connections between their feelings and events. The company was founded in 2018 and is backed by Y Combinator since 2020.

“Amidst a rapidly growing landscape of mental health and wellness apps, Sayana has developed a uniquely engaging member experience backed by world-class AI and machine learning algorithms,” said Russell Glass, CEO, Headspace Health. “Sayana's technology, and most importantly, Sayana’s team, will help us meaningfully advance our product and content strategy as we continue to build the world’s most comprehensive mental health and wellbeing platform.”

Sayana's Self-Care app pushes the users to monitor their mood along with what is influencing it. Then it delivers highly personalized content and self-care exercises rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and also breathing exercises.
