Essential foods are expected t...Items like pasta, ready meals, and bread might fall short along with products like wheat, sunflower oil, and grain.
A popular retail expert in the UK has warned about a possible food shortage that might soon affect the country in the coming months. This was caused mainly due to the rise in the cost of living and energy. COO of Skuuudle, James Rehm, has explained clearly how the rise in energy cost can affect the retail sector with shopping centers having a limited supply of certain products. Furthermore, it was predicted that customers might have to deal with a cost increase in essential items.
Items like pasta, ready meals, and bread might fall short along with products like wheat, sunflower oil, and grain. James has stated that as energy prices continue to increase, it will affect the food supply chain. He added that the Russian invasion had strained that global supply chain, and we can see the effect on shopping center shelves. A product that makes use of grains and wheat will face a bad situation because both Ukraine and Russia are the main players in the export of these products. People should expect less in a few categories because products are scarcely available and you can’t make them. Shoppers are also warned about serious price inflation.
