Ridge's Work with Cybersecurity Pioneer Ericom

Established in 1993, Ericom is a provider of Zero Trust secure access solutions that protect organizations from advanced cybersecurity threats. Leveraging innovative isolation capabilities and multiple secure remote access technologies, Ericom solutions enable simple, secure, policy-driven access to mission-critical cloud and on-premises business systems and resources, including the public Internet, without impacting end-user productivity. It has 11 million+ worldwide.

Traditionally, Ericom's architecture has been on-premises deployment at customer sites. Although, the company realized that it needed to expand its customer base through large-scale cloud-based deployment.

The company began its cloud deployment efforts by considering co-location facilities or Infrastructure as a Service offering (IaaS) in different geographies but soon came to the realization that the provisioning, monitoring, and execution of services at each location would require a large team and would not be cost-effective. Ericom's DevOps team concluded that they needed a service that could provide a fully CNCF compliant managed Kubernetes offering.

"As we started planning our global deployments, we had two major requirements. First, we didn't want to rewrite any code. Second, we wanted a deployment process that we could replicate all over the world. The Ridge Cloud and Ridge's APIs satisfied both of these conditions out of the box," said Shmaya Frankel, Head of DevOps at Ericom.

The company needed local data centers in order to provide low latency, high throughput, and data security. They began in Tel Aviv with MedOne, through which Ridge's managed Kubernetes services enabled Ericom to offer solutions to local customers. The company added PoPs in Milan, Chicago, and Taipei. For these locations, Ridge helped.

With its global network of over 100 top-tier data centers, Ridge enables businesses to deploy and scale their applications anywhere on the planet, offering a user experience that today's existing cloud solutions cannot match.

Ridge's expertise helped Ericom use its Kubernetes codebase from its existing deployments to expand its footprint to other providers without requiring any code change. Ridge's API made the deployment completely seamless.
