Vendors must learn to adapt quickly to the changes, support their customers, and meet their ever-changing needs

In the technologically advanced world we live in, legacy systems get very little attention. Most of the vendors downplay the term legacy and often use it for promoting shiny new products as replacements. Most of the solutions that we get for data centers or servers are mostly made for all practical purposes, including a legacy system. This is one of the main reasons why companies do not give up on their computing platforms. Vendors must learn to adapt quickly to the changes, support their customers, and meet their ever-changing needs. The big blue IBM has recently made an announcement regarding a new solution to help in the modernization of IBM Z apps.

One of the central plots of hybrid cloud is updating or adapting legacy platforms and business applications to leverage new features, including newer frameworks, programming language, and infrastructure platforms. Few people in the industry are comparing the latest offering to remodeling or renovation of older structures. Modernization efforts will significantly improve the lifespan of the existing applications and systems. Some critics in the segment are stating that the latest offering looks like a temporary fix for older systems that are in the end game destined to reach the silicon grave.
