Amazon has launched a new offering called Smart Commerce that is aimed at helping stores create their own store online and offer an excellent in-store shopping experience

Ecommerce giant Amazon has recently announced that it will be helping the neighborhood stores in India to launch their digital storefronts. This will help the retailers in serving their customers in a better way. This seems to be the final effort for the giant as it looks to consolidate its position in that market through offline stores as it is one of the key areas overseas. Yesterday, Amazon launched a new offering called Smart Commerce that is aimed at helping stores create their own store online and offer an excellent in-store shopping experience.

The solutions base goes back to the offering available in the US, which Amazon had launched almost two years ago. This app in the US has been immensely helpful for people looking to serve their walk-in customers, and it also allows stores to sell commodities directly on Amazon. In recent reports, Amazon had mentioned that shops of any size could sign up for this program, and the company would provide the necessary support with digital payments and logistics. SVP Amit Agarwal has stated that they are very humbled by how local shops are responding to their program. So far, Amazon has invested more than $6.5 billion in the Indian market for operations.
