Filmmaker blamed TikTok for al...A video on TikTok regarding sexual consent has been filled with comments from men accusing women of alleging assault.
Many mention the controversial influencer, Andrew Tate, who has been banned for his misogynist views from several platforms. From an account with around 1,700 followers, this two-minute video has been viewed more than 1.2 million times. The creator of the video, Emmeline Hartley believes that the algorithms of TikTok are driving more hateful comments toward the movie.
According to TikTok misogyny was prohibited on the platform. A spokesperson said that the community guidelines called it a hateful ideology so they were clear that they do not want that content on their platform. It added that more than 100 comments from Hartley have been removed from the platform but that is a very small portion of the numbers which are still left.
Ms. Hartley said that she couldn't make direct contact with someone from TikTok to get help. According to Hartley, she intended to present a common but complicated scenario about sexual consent. But to her concern, some comments mirrored the film as an example of women "tricking" men.
