Several famous people introduc...Several famous people have tested positive for Covid-19 after attending the Golden Globes.
In the days after the Oscars, a number of celebrities, including Collin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Michelle Pfeiffer, revealed they had caught the virus. As the number of dropouts increased, the Critics Choice Awards, which aired on Sunday, mandated Covid-19 tests for attendance. A few celebs who were made to abstain commented on social media.
Pfeiffer posted on Instagram, "I'm very sorry to be missing the Critics Choice Awards today. Covid indeed." Actor Jeff Bridges received the Lifetime Achievement award from John Goodman instead of Pfeiffer, who was scheduled to do so. Curtis also expressed her complaints on the stage. The cast of Everything Everywhere All at Once won five awards, including Best Picture, while Curtis missed filming due to illness.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Covid-19 safety measures like testing, immunization, and mask restrictions have been uneven this award season. While some on-site ceremonies and events have not needed any safety precautions, others, like the Critics' Choice Awards and the Golden Globes, have either required testing, confirmation of immunization, or both.
