Baldur's Gate 3 also took home awards for Best RPG, Best Multiplayer, Best Community Support, and Player's Voice

The 2023 Game Awards are now over, but not before they gave us a glimpse into a celebration of the industry's history and future. The Game Awards undoubtedly celebrated the amazing games and developers of the previous year, in addition to featuring major announcements and information about upcoming titles. Even though there were many games this year that could have all been contenders for Game of the Year in previous years, only one was able to take home the title this time, and that game was Baldur's Gate 3. In addition to being named Game of the Year and having its Xbox version shadow dropped, Baldur's Gate 3 also took home awards for Best RPG, Best Multiplayer, Best Community Support, and Player's Voice.

Best Story, Best Art Direction, and Best Game Direction were the next three awards won by Alan Wake 2. The Rise of the Golden Idol, the sequel to The Curse of the Golden Idol, has been revealed by Color Gray. A short teaser featured several mugshots on a corkboard, linked by string, before the screen revealed the cursed idol. Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Netflix platforms will all be able to play The Rise of the Golden Idol. Capcom also revealed the final trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds, the upcoming game in the Monster Hunter series.
