Ahold Delhaize USA announced its new chief sustainability officer

Stolzman expressed his enthusiasm for his new role

Ahold Delhaize USA has appointed its new chief sustainability officer, Marc Stolzman, who will assume responsibility for overseeing all aspects of health and sustainability for the Dutch grocer’s U.S. subsidiary. This includes devising a strategy and setting goals in alignment with Ahold Delhaize’s global sustainability objectives and commitments. Stolzman's role will also encompass U.S. regulatory compliance and financial reporting. With nearly five years of experience within Ahold Delhaize USA companies, Stolzman previously served as the executive lead of finance for Peapod Digital Labs. In this capacity, he managed finance for the company's digital, e-commerce, and commercial operations while also providing leadership for various cross-company initiatives.

Ahold Delhaize USA CEO JJ Fleeman expressed confidence in Stolzman's capabilities, highlighting the company's commitment to sustainability efforts aimed at creating healthier communities and a healthier planet. Fleeman emphasized the importance of Stolzman's leadership and extensive financial background in driving the company's ambitious sustainability goals, which include initiatives such as carbon emissions reduction, promoting healthier products, tackling food waste, and minimizing single-use plastics. Before joining Ahold Delhaize USA, Stolzman served as president and CFO of Kymeta Corporation, as well as holding CFO roles at Zulily, Zumiez, Blue Nile, and Imperium Renewables. His professional journey also includes several executive-level positions at Starbucks Coffee Company, where he served as senior VP of international finance and business development and CFO for Starbucks Japan.
