Metrodora will serve as Center of Excellence for patient care and physician training

Mauna Kea Technologies (Euronext Growth: ALMKT), the creator of Cellvizio®, a platform encompassing multidisciplinary probe and needle-based confocal laser endomicroscopy (p/nCLE), and Metrodora Institute, a prominent multispecialty healthcare institute, have announced a new partnership. The collaboration aims to establish Metrodora Institute as the inaugural U.S. Center of Excellence, focusing on patient care and physician training in the utilization of Cellvizio for the identification and treatment of food intolerances in individuals with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Through the Cellvizio Food Intolerance Test, this partnership introduces an innovative approach to diagnosing food intolerances, offering real-time visualization of the intestinal barrier during a food challenge.

In the United States, approximately 10–15% of the general adult population experiences IBS, often associated with atypical food intolerance, manifested by symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, and changes in bowel habits. Sacha Loiseau, Ph.D., the founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Mauna Kea Technologies, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, citing its alignment with strategic objectives and its potential to expand Cellvizio's use in the food intolerance market. Establishing the Cellvizio U.S. Center of Excellence at the Metrodora Institute represents a pivotal step in raising awareness among medical professionals and patients about C-FIT, positioning it as a leading method for food intolerance detection. Dr. Loiseau emphasized the urgent need to address the significant number of IBS patients grappling with daily challenges, highlighting the importance of broadening access to the C-FIT procedure.
