TotalEnergies has been active since 1957, deploying its integrated energy model

TotalEnergies has reached an agreement to acquire Lewis Energy Group's 20% interest in the Dorado leases operated by EOG Resources (80%) in the Eagle Ford shale gas play, enhancing its natural gas production capacity in Texas and reinforcing its business integration within the U.S. LNG value chain. This acquisition is set to bolster TotalEnergies' U.S. natural gas production, with the Dorado field in Texas expected to contribute an additional 50 million cubic feet a day (Mcf/d) to its net production by 2024, with potential growth to an additional 50 Mcf/d by 2028. The field maintains an emission intensity of around 10 kg CO2e/boe. In 2023, TotalEnergies achieved a net U.S. natural gas output of approximately 340 Mcf/d (450 Mcf/d technical production).

TotalEnergies solidifies its position as the largest exporter of U.S. LNG, having exported over 10 million tons (Mt) in 2023. This success is attributed to its 16.6% ownership in the Cameron LNG plant in Louisiana and several long-term purchasing agreements. Further expansion is expected, with TotalEnergies' LNG export capacity projected to reach 15 Mt/y by 2030 with the commencement of the first phase of the Rio Grande LNG project in Texas. Nicolas Terraz, President of Exploration & Production at TotalEnergies, expressed satisfaction with the acquisition, citing its contribution to the company's LNG integration with a low-cost and low-emission upstream gas feed. He also highlighted the partnership with EOG Resources, recognized for its technical proficiency.
