SkyCell Fundraises $116 Million to Transform the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain

Swiss pharmatech company, SkyCell has raised $116 million in its Series D fundraising round. The company specializes in advancing the pharmaceutical supply chain. The objective of this investment is to broaden SkyCell's global reach, with specific focus on boosting its operations in Asia and the US.

The company distinguishes itself through a range of technologies, such as extensive big data analytics capabilities, innovative software solutions, and IP-protected temperature-controlled containers. Currently, SkyCell's containers safeguard more than $2.5 billion worth of medications each month, including lifesaving vaccinations, cancer medications, and diagnostic tools across the globe.

Notably, it’s DECARBONIZE technology optimizes routes to reduce environmental effect while allowing clients to forecast, track, and monitor CO2 emissions. CEO of SkyCell, Richard Ettl underlined the company's determination to decarbonizing supply chains and highlighted its vital contribution in the pharmaceutical industry's explosive expansion. He emphasized that SkyCell's reusable container contributes to an annual reduction of over 250,000 tons of CO2 by substantially lowering CO2 emissions per use.

Bosun Hau of Tybourne Capital Management conveyed confidence in SkyCell's trajectory, citing the company's all-inclusive software, hardware, and analytics technology as revolutionary in the pharmaceutical logistics industry. With this second round of funding, SkyCell hopes to improve supply chain sustainability by establishing its position as an influential technological ally for the worldwide pharmaceutical industry.
