Co-op Partners with Walmart to...The Store Assist solution will allow the Co-op to seamlessly handle all online orders and deliveries
UK retailer Co-op has announced a partnership with Walmart Commerce Technologies in a strategic move aimed at strengthening its quick commerce capabilities. Through the integration of Walmart's Store Assist solution, this partnership is aimed at enhancing and streamlining Co-op's online grocery operations. Known for its network of almost 2,400 food stores and more than 6,000 other extensive distribution centers, the Co-op aims to revolutionize its digital order fulfillment operations.
The Store Assist solution will allow the Co-op to seamlessly handle all online orders and deliveries. This includes in-store pickups, last-mile deliveries, and regulating orders from third-party markets, all in one integrated system. With the integration of Store Assist, the Co-op expects a significant enhancement in productivity and efficiency among its workforce. This partnership would liberate the employees from toggling between multiple applications and devices, speeding up the delivery processes and improving service for its member-owners and customers in the community. Additionally, the Co-op's partnership with Walmart Commerce Technologies is in line with its broader strategy to expand its business in the quick commerce market. The retailer is aiming for further significant growth, with more than 80% of the UK population already accessing its services through various delivery partners like Just Eat, Uber Eats, and Deliveroo.
George Hayworth, Online Development Head, stated that the company is dedicated to delivering ease, speed, and convenience through local stores. He underscored that the Co-op’s partnership with Walmart Commerce Technologies highlights the company’s commitment to providing reliable service to meet the evolving needs of its customers.
