China's animated blockbuster Ne Zha 2 is breaking US box office barriers, reaching fresh heights and surpassing big names. The film has now topped Pokémon 3: The Movie and Demon Slayer: To The Hashira Training, further solidifying itself as one of the top-grossing non-English animation films in North America.

After its recent victory over Ponyo's US box office, Ne Zha 2 continues to reshape the international reach of Chinese films. Produced on a low budget, the film concentrated mainly on distribution in China, where it broke records. Now, its US success is further evidence of its global appeal. Ne Zha 2 captivates audiences worldwide with stunning visuals, compelling storytelling, and dynamic action sequences, delivering profound emotional impact.

As per Luiz Fernando's report, the movie earned a whopping $1.7 million in its third three-day weekend in the US, even though it lost 200 theaters. Even with fewer theaters—now showing in 600 theaters, 60 fewer than its opening—the movie only dropped 44.2% in revenue. This solid hold has taken its US total to $17.9 million in 17 days.

With this milestone, Ne Zha 2 is now the 9th highest-grossing non-English animated film in the history of North America, outselling Pokémon 3: The Movie ($17.1 million) and Demon Slayer: To the Hashira Training ($17.6 million).

In the meantime, at the global box office, Ne Zha 2 has reached the $2 billion mark, making it the first ever animated movie to achieve this feat. The film, which opened in the US on February 14, is still going strong at the box office, making its mark in world cinema history.
