Renault Nissan Automotive India achieves 4.5 Million Powertrain Units Milestone

Renault Nissan Automotive India reaches 4.5 million powertrain units milestone, expanding future production.

Renault S.A., sometimes known as Groupe Renault, is a multinational French automobile manufacturer that was founded in 1899.The Company currently produces a range of cars and vans.  In addition, it has manufactured buses, coaches, trucks, tractors, and tanks, airplanes, and aircraft engines. 

Renault Nissan Automotive India has produced more than 2.75 million Renault and Nissan automobiles for the Indian and international markets.  Since its production started in 2010, Renault Nissan Automotive India has produced seven different engine types and three different types of gearboxes.  Renault Nissan Automotive India has reached a production milestone of 4.5 million engines and gearboxes. 1.67 million Gearboxes and 2.83 million engines are included in this.

 The 600-acre Renault Nissan Automotive India plant, owned by the Renault Nissan partnership, started its operations in 2010. It is located in Oragadam, Chennai.

The manufacturing facility is capable of producing engines from beginning to end, starting with the melting of aluminum ingots, followed by the casting shop where the molten metal is cast into various engine parts, such as the cylinder head and cylinder block, the machining shop where it is precisely sized and shaped, and the assembly shop where it is assembled. Reaching 4.5 million powertrain units produced is a significant milestone for Renault Nissan Automotive India.

According to Keerthi Prakash, the Managing Director, the company has not only powered vehicles produced at the Chennai plant but also exported powertrain units and components to various countries worldwide. Renault Nissan Alliance announced that the company is getting ready their infrastructure to produce the engines and gearboxes for their new models in the future as part of the USD 600 million investments.
