“Our Vision is to be one of the leading IT players in Innovative technology.”

Cloud computing has existed since the dawn of the internet, but only in recent years has it become a household term. Anyone who has touched a computer, tablet or smartphone over the last decade is regularly using cloud services.

Whenever we scroll through Facebook or Twitter, watch streaming videos, access an online email service like Gmail or Outlook, or use the apps on our phones, we are accessing data stored on the cloud. The general public has been quicker to adopt cloud services than the business world, mostly because the data that companies use to run and grow their businesses is highly sensitive.

In light of the above-mentioned scenario, we’re thrilled to present Sunjray Infosystems.

Sunjray delivers digital and technology solutions from ideation to commercialization, enabling Global 200+ clients to outperform the competition. The company understands the customer needs and works an agile, collaborative approach to creating customized solutions across digital platforms.

At the same time, Sunjray Infosystems’ deep expertise in real-time data transmission and IoT with a flavour of Business Intelligence helps optimize IT into a strategic asset.

Jay Rath, Sunjray Infosystems Director, spoke exclusively to The Silicon Review. Below is an excerpt.

Q. How do you see the evolution of Cloud market in India?

The potential growth of cloud computing services in India is extremely good as the country has become the global leader in information technology. Considering the number of Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) units and other sectors, it’s anticipated that Cloud computing services have a huge opportunity in Indian market because of less investment, less time to implement, reliable and scalable application. In India particularly, the growth of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) have extremely good potential. However, Business Process-as-a-Service (BPaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Cloud Management and Security Services, and cloud advertising services will experience a constant growth more than almost 50 percent in revenue by the end of 2020.

Q. How is Sunjray Infosystems (P) Ltd positioned in this segment?

Cloud Computing is based on two basic models – Service Model and Deployment Model. Sunjray Infosystems mainly focuses on government domain where the ease of access of data, data security and less cost is the highest preference. Since Sunjray Infosystems focuses mostly on similar jobs (Real-time data acquisition) for different vertical domains, it considers setting up their own cloud-based services for different organisations adhering to IaaS and SaaS. The company also provides private cloud option (Deployment model) to its clients with IaaS and SaaS model. With this approach, Sunjray Infosystems is ready to handle any new market segment.

Q. What are the factors that differentiate Sunjray Infosystems (P) Ltd from other players in this segment?

Sunjray handles only specific projects which bridge the gaps. Achieving a goal is much faster with a new concept than competing for traditional projects. A company can grow faster if they develop some new technology that suits the market demand. From the inception, Sunjray develops niche products based on customer’s requirement which is pretty new in the market.

For clarity sake, predicting the lifespan of a highway and suggesting government for maintenance is the best approach to get the work done. Similarly, getting genuine data from analyzer can convince any government official to accept the concept. In summary, I can say that Sunjray handles only specific projects which offer maximum benefits to the customer with less competition.

Q. With expertise in real-time data transmission and IoT to optimize your clients’ IT into a strategic asset, how does Sunjray Infosystems enable them with IoT solutions?

Sunjray handles capturing data and transmitting to the destination server. This can be from any analyzer/sensor. For clarity sake, to develop the flood forecasting for water resources department, different types of sensors are required to install in remote areas to find out the rainfall-runoff and discharge of water in a certain point. The real-time data from temperature, pressure, wind speed, wind direction, rainfall and humidity sensors are required during simulation. Similarly, the real-time data is required from the observation center where the water level can be compared with the simulated value.

The real-time flood forecasting is one of the most effective non-structural measures for flood management. For formulating the flood forecast in the real time, the observed flow data are transmitted to the forecasting station through the different means of data communication medium such as GSM, GPRS, Satellite, wireless and telemetry stations etc. The flow data on a real-time base are then saved in the server. The saved data can be used in flood forecasting model on real-time base for calibration and validation to forecast the flood flow and corresponding water levels for different lead periods varying from few hours to few days depending on the size of catchment and purpose of the forecast. The structure of the forecasting model should be simple and it should not have unnecessary input requirements. However, at the same time, the forecasted flood must be as accurate as possible. This type of IoT solutions nowadays plays a vital role in the collection of hydrological, meteorological and water quality data and for water resources management. The main advantage of IoT solutions is that data is available from remote stations on real-time base which allows effective and efficient decision making for the proper management of water resources. This type of calculation is automatic and accurate compared to the manual calculation. In the case of manual calculation, getting the exact values might not be possible but using the Hydrological Real-Time Data Telemetry and Warning System using IoT solutions, it is easy to forecast easily the flood situation.
