Christopher Carter: Interview Highlights

Q. What was the reason behind the genesis of Approyo?

I recognized that there was a gap in the SAP ecosystem, a lack of SAP solution providers focused on SAP S/4 HANA and the usage of the cloud. Hence, Approyo was set up to fill such gaps. The company specializes in SAP and the solutions surrounding it.

Q. How successful was your first project roll on?

We were fortunate to have a successful go-live with our lead customer and to have successful growth over the last couple of years. We had done a lot of testing on systems with our partner SAP to make sure we were going to be able to launch as a production landscape with substantial success.

Q. What challenges did you face in your initial years?

Our initial years were good but not great as we continued to learn how to position our ‘Cloud-based’ solution in a world still trying to understand what cloud was. As we needed to educate executives and technology teams on what the actual value of a cloud was, as well as what a cloud is, it made for some very long and deep conversations. The cloud is what is going to be a significant influence on businesses’ practices; it will always affect their company for the better.

Q. What do you feel are the reasons behind your product/service popularity?

It fits a very specific need for customers running SAP landscapes. There is a massive upgrade cycle going on in the ecosystem at this time, where all SAP systems must be upgraded to S/4 by 2027. As such, there are not enough knowledgeable SAP consultants throughout the world – we, with our exceptional skills and capabilities, kick in for our customers and prospects throughout the globe, and that is how we have grown popular with prospects to help and support them on their incredible journey.

We have been blessed to have a great year over year growth in the number of customers, landscapes, and revenues. Our goals have been met and exceeded every year.

Q. What drives/inspires you to excel in your field of business?

We feel that every customer running SAP should get the best quality service and have the ability to grow and expand the SAP landscape with a budget to fit their needs. We do not want them to be hosed down by some firm looking to make a quick buck over the next five years. Our goal is to set the path for their success and to be the partner that drives the success they want and need through this digital transformation.

Q. If you have to list five factors that have been/are the biggest asset to your organization, what would they be and why?

  • First and foremost, we care about our staff. Without them, our customers would suffer. We only hire the brightest talent available, and they are what keep our business alive and running.
  • Second, our customers are exceptional! We are always looking to help any firm with SAP that needs support in any way necessary. We may not have prior business relations with each other but we’re here to help no matter what.
  • Third, we want to make sure our team and customers are educated to the highest degree. By working to educate your mind every day, it only provides the entire team with growth.
  • Fourth, our technology is second to none; we use the most reliable tools to support customers and their systems. Our goal is to keep them up to date on the latest technology every day.
  • Fifth, our culture within the entire organization is a very open door, supportive, and growth-orientated environment. We strive to work hard and play hard with the whole team. Everyone is willing to chip in and jump in when needed.

Q. Do you have any new products ready to be rolled out into the market?

Glad you asked. Yes, we’re launching Ignite 2.0. We’re excited as we can now support any cloud solution: GCP, AWS, or Azure. With their SAP management and support for installs and upgrades, we will be able to provide a faster and better solution to customers. We’re excited, as we’re one of the only companies in the world to support all three clouds for an SAP landscape.

Q. Where do you see your company a couple of years from now?

We’re very blessed; we have been growing year over year thanks to our staff and the quality they want to provide to customers on a 24/7 basis, as mentioned above. I see this team growing, I see us adding more of them, I see us adding more companies to support, and we will continue to add locations throughout the globe. I look forward to our future.
