The Silicon Review reached out to Tejune Kang, CEO of Atypical Digital, and here’s what he had to say.

How would you describe your professional journey so far? Tell us about a few roadblocks and learning lessons that helped you grow through the years.

My professional journey has been a dynamic and rewarding experience, characterized by unwavering ambition, a passion for learning, and an optimistic outlook. Over the years, I have faced a number of challenges, including managing resources and balancing expectations, but these roadblocks have only strengthened my resolve and enhanced my skills as a leader.

As CEO of Atypical Digital, I have honed my ability to lead, innovate, and succeed in the constantly evolving technology industry. I understand the importance of retaining top talent, fostering a collaborative company culture, and valuing individual perspectives to ensure that customer needs are met efficiently and effectively. These experiences have made me a more mature, confident, and forward-thinking leader, poised for continued success in the years to come.

Q. Trust is one of the most important currencies of leadership that requires authenticity and consistency to maintain. What’s your take on this?

Trust is the cornerstone of good leadership and it’s essential that leaders work to build a high level of trust among their team. Authenticity and consistency are crucial in this process. By being genuine with their values, intentions, and actions, a leader can start to establish trust with those they lead. Additionally, by being consistent in their promise-keeping, behavior, decision-making, and ethical standards, others can depend on them as a reliable source of authority. When authenticity and consistency are displayed in unison, it sends a clear message to those around them that trust is earned and well worth cultivating in order to create an environment fertile for collaboration. This, in turn, enables teams to work more effectively together.

Q. As the CEO of the company, what are your major roles and responsibilities?

As CEO of Atypical Digital, I am focused on building a strong culture that supports growth, while also assembling a top-performing leadership team that shares the company's vision. My main responsibilities include setting the company's vision and strategy, making informed decisions, and ensuring that key stakeholders are aligned with our goals. Additionally, I play a critical role in hiring the right people to drive success, and I am committed to fostering a culture that values integrity, creativity, and collaboration. By doing so, I aim to build a strong foundation for the future growth of Atypical Digital.

Q. Can you introduce us to your technology solutions? What are their key features?

Atypical Digital offers a full suite of services to help businesses optimize their digital marketing channels and create a superior customer experience for increased revenues and market dominance.

Our services include expert CMS implementation/customization (Adobe Experience Manager and Magnolia CMS), e-commerce (Adobe Commerce and vTex), HubSpot partner services, content strategy, conversion rate optimization (CRO), data strategy and analytics, online reputation management, paid media services, search engine optimization (SEO), and staff augmentation. Most importantly, Atypical Digital is a leader in the Customer Data Platform (CDP) and Data Analytics space.

Q. How do you see Atypical Digital changing in five years, and how do you see yourself creating that change?

Atypical Digital will be a leading force in the digital industry in five years, delivering innovative solutions and exceptional results to our clients globally. Our continued expansion into new markets and investment in emerging technologies will solidify our position as a digital powerhouse, outpacing the competition and driving exponential growth.

To achieve this, we will prioritize the development of a long-term strategy, building strong relationships with clients and partners, and fostering a highly intelligent, innovative staff. We understand the importance of staying ahead of the curve and continuously improving our offerings, which is why we will embrace new technologies and push the boundaries of what's possible. By executing this vision, Atypical Digital will continue to grow and succeed, solidifying our place as a leader in the digital industry.

Q. Is there anything you would like to add before we wrap up?

The digital world is constantly evolving and with it comes new challenges and opportunities. I bring a unique blend of expertise to the table, with my Harvard Business School education and real-world experience in successfully taking a company public on the NASDAQ. This background, combined with my street smarts and ability to anticipate change, has allowed me to develop a robust strategy for my company, Atypical Digital.

As the CEO, I am confident in our ability to continue to grow and expand in the coming years, leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead of the competition. I firmly believe that a combination of strategic planning and innovation is key to our success, and I am always open to new business opportunities, partnerships, and talented individuals who are interested in joining us on this journey.

Tejune Kang | CEO

Tejune Kang is a technology professional from the United States with more than 28 years of experience leading global enterprise technology application implementations. He also has over 23 years of entrepreneurial experience. He founded 6D Global Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: SIXD) and took the company public. Moreover, Mr. Kang has had many successful business exits, including those in technology, real estate, and imports. Mr. Kang is a member of both Young President Organization (YPO) New York Manhattan Chapter and Pacific Rim Chapter, as well as Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) New York Chapter Alumni Emirates.
