Consulting firms provide their strategy and content experts to help organizations transform their services, internal operations, and ultimately increase value and return on investment. And technology plays an important role in supporting innovation and driving modernization. The IT industry offers a plethora of options, from programming languages, platforms, methodologies, tools, and more. With so many choices, and the always evolving nature of technology, hiring an IT consulting company can provide the right expertise to help guide and implement the right solutions for an organization.

There are various IT consulting firms providing exemplary services, but one that stands out from the rest is Cambria Solutions. The company is an award-winning, national firm specializing in designing and implementing innovative solutions that enables government agencies to improve services and client outcomes. Whether its technology or business processes, at the core it’s all about people. Cambria Solutions delivers modernization initiatives with a unique human focus for long-term sustainability and quick adoption. The company’s mission is to help drive change and set organizations up for success every step of the way through its HumanGenuity® approach – ingenuity with a human touch. After all, human connection and communication is the core of any successful project. Since its founding in 2003, the company has experienced double-digit growth nearly every year.

In conversation with Robert Rodriguez, CEO and Founder of Cambria Solutions

Q. Is it important to break the myopic view to remain unbiased and stay focused on objectives?

As a consulting firm that exclusively serves the public sector, it is even more important that we provide our clients with unbiased consulting services. Recommending tools, software, and direction is based on what’s best for the client, given their unique needs and individual situations. Cambria does not provide cookie-cutter approaches or recommendations. We always tailor our services to the client’s needs using a distinctively personal approach we’ve coined as HumanGenuity® - ingenuity with a human touch producing meaningful change.

Q. How do you contribute to multiplying productivity/profits?

We have a laser focus on what we do well and drive to pursue those opportunities. We don’t try to be all things to all clients. We are selective, based on our experience and proven successes. Clients hire us the first time for our competencies; they do repeat business with us because of our working style and ability to generate results. Reasons behind multiplying productivity and profits include:

  • High client satisfaction, reference-ability, and word of mouth about our solid brand help generate new and repeatable business
  • Leveraged staffing models with the right combination of senior-, mid-, and lower-level staff
  • Hiring local resources for projects helps to keep travel costs and turnover minimal, and local staffs are invested in their cities and communities, generating longer tenure with the firm.
  • Optimized corporate services structure, a solid internal operations team reduces duplication of such support services required for our consulting business units across the nation.

Q. Consultants do not come with guarantees, so there is always a possibility that you might not achieve the results you had planned when you had hired them irrespective of the cost. How can businesses overcome this uncertainty?

Hire the right consulting firm that has successfully completed your type of requested work, provides verified references, and brings accelerators and points of view from lessons learned. An organization in need of consulting services should ensure it has clear project objectives; oftentimes there can be wide interpretation of what success should look like and even what the discrete requirements of the project are. Also, implementing a project governance process helps keep projects on track and deal with unexpected curve balls. Governance constantly monitors and communicates on status, issues, and risks to reduce the element of surprise. Lastly, screen the desired consulting vendor beyond its references and look for failures in other states, terminated contracts, assessed penalty or damages for nonperformance.

Q. How do you deal with the “never ending change” in digital transformation?

Nothing in government is static. It adjusts to the needs of citizens and evolves, ebbs and flows. Since Cambria exclusively serves the public sector, we are used to changing and always finding newer and better ways to help government work better, faster, and smarter. Staying abreast of the latest trends and innovations is paramount, and having a workforce that readily accepts change and thrives in it is also important.

Q. Do you have any new services ready to be launched?

  • Kappy Innovation Lab
  • Agile Enablement / Coaching
  • Robotics / Aritificial Intelligence (AI) / Chatbots
