The global fiber optics market is expected to grow to USD 7.89 billion by 2025 at a CAGR of 11.7 percent during the forecast period of 2018-2025, according to a report by Fior Markets. This is driven by a growing demand for Fiber to the x (FTTx) as we move increasingly towards secure, bandwidth-intensive, high-speed, high-data rate applications for both our business and personal lives. Fiber optic cables provide significant bandwidth for signal transmission and can carry much more data than copper cables of the same diameter.

Clearfield, Inc. is one such firm that designs, manufactures and distributes fiber optic management products, helping service providers reduce the high costs associated with deploying, managing, protecting and scaling a fiber optic network to deliver the mobile, residential and business services customers want. Based on the patented Clearview® Cassette, its unique single-architected, modular fiber management platform is designed to lower the cost of broadband deployment and maintenance while enabling the customers to scale their operations as their subscriber revenues increase.

Developing Industry-Leading Optic Management Products

Panels & Distribution Frames: Clearfield extends the flexibility of the Clearview® Cassette to its FieldSmart® frame and panel systems. Complete compatibility in footprint and route paths between the frames allow you to pick and choose the FxHD or FxDS for any application environment with future migration built-in. Ranging from 24-ports in a 1RU panel to an industry-leading 288 ports in 11 inches, FieldSmart® maximizes your use of real estate on the frame. With a completely symmetrical product design, route diversity is maximized, minimizing the risk of cable pile up.

Cabinets, Enclosures & Wall Boxes: Incorporating Clearfield’s philosophy of modularity and flexibility, the FieldSmart® Fiber Distribution Hub (FDH) sets the bar for fiber access, protection and density among outside plant fiber cabinets for PON, cross-connect or hub collapse environments, while the FieldSmart® Fiber Active Cabinet (FAC) is specifically designed to complement the service delivery and network migration capabilities of advanced electronic systems. Its CraftSmart® Fiber Protection Boxes meet a wide range of fiber, coax and copper needs for the broadband, telecommunications and utility industries. The FieldSmart® Fiber Delivery Point (FDP) Pedestal Insert product line incorporates the delivery of fiber connectivity within Clearfield’s fiber pedestals, to provide a secure, above-ground access point and physical fiber protection for drop cable solutions.

Clearfield's FieldShield Microducts: FieldShield® starts with a ruggedized microduct designed to support all aerial, direct bury, and inside plant “last mile” needs. Created from the most rugged HDPE polymers, FieldShield Microduct is strong enough to be placed using traditional methods of boring and plowing, allowing you to leverage your existing conduit placement equipment. Using its small form factor fiber duct system also enables you to take advantage of less disruptive technologies such as micro trenching or saw cutting. FieldShield Microducts provide a fiber delivery pathway to quickly deliver pre-terminated, factory-tested pushable, and pullable FieldShield Fiber. Duct options address aerial and buried environments in the OSP, as well as plenum and riser configurations in the ISP. Utilizing same port connectivity technology for last mile drop applications, microduct, mated with a FieldShield FlexConnector allows for plug-and-play connectivity between the FieldShield YOURx-Terminal and the YOURx-TAP – no matter which type of drop cable is desired.

Clearview Cassettes: Delivering the most scalable fiber management platform in the industry, Clearfield ensures your investment in capital equipment grows alongside your take rates. The key to this promise: Clearview® Blue, Clearview Black and the Clearview xPAK — the central building blocks of every element of the FieldSmart® product portfolio. All types of fiber cable construction can integrate within the fiber optic cassette to support all patch only, patch-and-splice (in-cassette splicing), and passive optical component hardware and plug-and-play scenarios. Designed to handle the toughest operating environments, Clearview provides flexibility, as well as reliable performance within the inside plant, outside plant and access networks.
