TSR: Have you always been passionate about software and technology? Tell us what inspired the foundation of Compunnel Digital?
Sriraj Mallick: Yes, I have always been passionate about software and technology. Our inspiration to start Compunnel Digital was the opportunity we saw in the rapid change and advancements in technology. It enabled new customer experiences, business models, and revenue channels for businesses.
Put simply, businesses were getting disrupted by a new company or competitor if they did not adopt or embrace new technology or offer new digital experiences to their clients, partners, or employees. We were inspired to help our clients to drive this transformation and create a competitive advantage for them. Our inspiration was to enable our clients to grow bigger, change faster, and ultimately transform.
TSR: Given that Compunnel Digital is a professional IT consulting and services firm specializing in digital business transformation, how uniquely do you address your clients' pain points?
Sriraj Mallick: We start with a digital success plan (DSP) that helps us define the business impact and outcomes we wish to achieve as a result of successful transformation. We then work with our clients to define the desired state and create a digital transformation strategy deeply rooted in its business drivers and current technology landscape to design the digital solution tailored to their success. Finally, we execute the project to its perfection and drive the change management to deliver on our success measures as per our DSP.
TSR: Please help us understand how Compunnel Digital delivers measurable performance improvements to its clients.
Sriraj Mallick: Digital success plan (DSP) is our unique approach to capture the vision, and measurable impact business wants as a result of a successful digital program. At the heart of this plan is a 'data layer’ that informs the lagging and leading indicators of success for each business capability that is being transformed. We measure their current state and define the desired state. Then as the program goes through its execution and implementation cycles, we measure those metrics to demonstrate the impact we have delivered. We do this consistently because our digital success plan provides us with a clear direction and measurement for what success means.
TSR: What are your focus areas? Please share an overview.
Sriraj Mallick: We focus on three domains, three capabilities, and three engagement models listed below:
Three Domains: Customer experience, operational excellence, and data & insights.
Three Capabilities: Cloud, application, and data & insights (covering most enterprise technologies and tools).
Three Engagement Models: Co-development, flexi team, and projects based.
TSR: Who are your clients? Would you like to share a client success story or two?
Sriraj Mallick: We serve customers who are in the mid-market and the enterprise market. We have also partnered with funded startups to develop and launch new SAAS platforms and products.
Success Story 1: A financial services company required digital transformation and modernization of eight different platforms and tools into one unified and new platform covering all business capabilities from sales, CRM to underwriting, servicing, and support. We improved customer experience, reduced time to loan approval, and disbursement by 65 percent. Besides, we also increased the transaction volume by 500 percent.
Success Story 2: SAAS product for architecture and construction industry: We developed a new SAAS platform successfully and migrated 17,000 clients. This platform opened up two new revenue channels for the business and was a growth driver. They were acquired by a VC company, and we continue to support its new version releases and new product development.
TSR: Will your company be expanding, bringing on any new products or new services that we should be aware of?
Sriraj Mallick: Yes, we have recently ventured into a startup in the visual AI space. We will launch new solutions built around visual AI to support use cases for safety, compliance, and productivity in different industries such as manufacturing, warehouse, supply chain, sports arenas, healthcare, etc.
TSR: How do you plan to transform your company into a future that is unfolding before you?
Sriraj Mallick: Innovate and embrace new technology and make it simpler for businesses to adopt and apply them to their businesses, besides invest more in new technology, acquire niche companies with expertise in key industries or technical domains, and hyper-focus on making technology adoption simpler for our clients.
