The Silicon Review
Organizations are increasingly deploying and implementing cloud services in an effort to reduce the cost and complexity of their infrastructure while accelerating their innovation levels. Most of the companies have deployed a multi-cloud strategy; others have deployed a hybrid cloud strategy. Multi-cloud offers a wide range of benefits for organizations, including flexibility, consistent best-of-breed updates, and options when it comes to selecting vendors. A multi-cloud strategy can encompass private, public, and hybrid clouds, and allows businesses to seamlessly manage multiple providers and virtual infrastructure performance while achieving greater efficiency.
DataStax is an experienced partner in on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud deployments and offers a suite of distributed data management products and cloud services. It is the open, multi-cloud stack for modern data apps. DataStax gives enterprises the freedom of choice, simplicity, and true cloud economics to deploy massive data, delivered via APIs, powering rich interactions on multi-cloud, open source and Kubernetes.DataStax is built on proven Apache Cassandra™ and the Stargate™ open source API platform. DataStax Astra is the new stack for modern data apps as-a-service, built on the scale-out, cloud-native, open source K8ssandra™.
About Apache Cassandra™
Apache Cassandra is an open-source distributed database management system designed to handle large amounts of data across many commodity servers, providing high availability with no single point of failure. Apache Cassandra offers robust support for clusters spanning multiple data centers, with asynchronous masterless replication allowing low latency operations for all clients. In a nutshell: Cassandra offers unprecedented speed, flexibility, and power. Evolved from work at Google, Amazon, and Facebook, Cassandra is used by leading companies such as Disney, IBM, The New York Times, Hulu, Spotify, and Twitter.
Leveraging Leading-Edge Cloud-Based Products
Astra DB: It simplifies cloud-native Cassandra application development. It reduces deployment time from weeks to minutes, and delivers an unprecedented combination of serverless, pay-as-you-go pricing with the freedom and agility of multi-cloud and open source. Astra DB is a fully managed, multi-cloud and serverless DBaaS that scales up and down dynamically with pay-as-you-go pricing. Astra DB eliminates operational overhead, the biggest obstacle to using Apache Cassandra, the open-source NoSQL database behind the largest applications in the world, including Netflix and Instagram.
DataStax Enterprise: Built on Apache Cassandra™, DataStax Enterprise is hardened by the largest internet apps, proven by the Fortune 100, and supports more NoSQL workloads - from Graph to Search and Analytics. Stargate APIs simplify development with Schemaless Document and support more NoSQL workloads including Graph, Search and Analytics. Operators can deploy cloud-native, Kubernetes-based architectures that enable microservices and extensibility. DataStax Enterprise (DSE), built on Apache Cassandra™, is the world’s most scalable database, well known for 100 percent uptime, unmatched low latency, and the ability to handle massive data at planetary scale. DSE delivers enterprise capabilities used by the best internet companies, and hardened by demanding, modern use cases in e-commerce, customer loyalty, banking, IoT, supply chain, etc. at global leading companies, including 40 of the Fortune 100.
DataStax Astra Streaming: It is a cloud-native messaging and event streaming platform powered by Apache Pulsar. Astra Streaming allows you to build streaming applications on top of an elastically scalable, multi-cloud messaging and event streaming platform. Astra Streaming is powered by Apache Pulsar, the next generation event streaming platform which provides a unified solution for streaming, queuing, pub/sub and stream processing. It is a natural complement to Astra DB. Using Astra Streaming, existing Astra DB users can easily build real time data pipelines into and out of their Astra DB instances. With Astra Streaming, avoid vendor lock-in and deploy on any of the major public clouds (AWS, GCP, and Azure) compatible with open-source Apache Pulsar.
