With approximately 63 million people in the country suffering from Significant Auditory Impairment as per WHO estimation, hearing loss is the most common sensory deficit. Though it is a serious problem, people often hesitate to use hearing aids. Since most hearing aids are easily visible, those with hearing loss are usually apprehensive about using them in public. This is where an invisible hearing aid could be the answer. Just like technology has been a blessing to us in every way of life, similarly, miniaturized technology has made the latest generation of hearing aids which are almost invisible, while being the most effective and discreet hearing solutions in any situation. The invisible hearing aid, technically known as Invisible in the Canal (IIC), is the newest type of hearing aid. It especially becomes a preferred option for those individuals who refrain from wearing the obvious hearing aids. An IIC is even smaller than a CIC (Completely in the Canal) or an ITC (In the Canal), which are themselves nearly hidden and often categorized as invisible hearing aids. Instead, an IIC is placed deep in the ear canal, just about four millimeters away from the eardrum. This results in the speech being clear and natural with minimal feedback and improved directionality.

Benefits of Eargo's Invisible Hearing Aids

Discreetness: Modern hearing aids are very discreet and offer excellent sound quality. One of the major benefits of invisible hearing aids is the discreteness and high cosmetic appeal in comparison with other styles of hearing aids. As they are custom made for your ears, you can expect a more secure and comfortable fit with the hearing aids. Once they are inserted correctly in your ears, they are invisible to the naked eye.

Convenience: Another benefit is the convenience of invisible hearing aids. They are compact and can be carried with you to work, social gatherings or any other places you would like to use them in. One of the great advantages of invisible extended wear hearing aids is the convenience of them for people living busy lifestyles.

For example, if you are someone who enjoys a busy lifestyle involving work, exercising, socializing and other activities, you may find the convenience of not having to remove the hearing aids or change the batteries of the hearing aids to be ideal. These hearing aids require very low maintenance, and regularly scheduled service appointments are made with your audiologist to ensure they are in good working condition at all times. Whether you’re going to dinner at a crowded restaurant, watching your favorite television show, or attending an important meeting, invisible hearing aids offer a powerful new way to adjust to any environment and start making the most out of everyday activities.
