Achieving success in the business circuit is an uphill task, but it is proved that for a business to achieve growth you must know how to delegate on experts. Having a legal advisor by your side is always a power move because he will keep you on the legal field whenever it is necessary. Fred-young & Evans is afull service commercial law firm based in Abuja, Nigeria. They provide legal services throughout Nigeria and the African continent. Q. Firms and corporations are crossing international borders and expanding across the globe through mergers, acquisitions, consolidation, and collaboration with foreign counsel. Tell us about your compliance model.
Interestingly, the large population and consumer base in Nigeria and favourable government policies on foreign investments presents a huge opportunity for increased foreign interest in the healthcare, education, real estate and construction, telecommunications and financial sectors. This has inevitably led to the need for improved corporate governance in these sectors. The privatisation of the power sector has drawn the attention of reputable international power firms to Nigeria and this has made the sector competitive towards an improved power supply in the country. In the face of falling crude oil prices, the Federal Government has shifted its attention to non-oil sectors. This has created more opportunities for investors especially in the agriculture and solid minerals sectors. Our firm’s knowledge of the Nigerian market, experience on foreign investments and comprehensive approach in business advisory services has indeed positioned us to better advise foreign investors and their advisers on viable business concerns and formidable business compositions in Nigeria.
Q. How do you deal with changing legal paradigms?
Law like every other human endeavor is not static. We know that innovation and changes in legal practices are inevitable. In most cases, the change in legal paradigms leads to a more effective way of doing things and brings greater efficiency and improved service delivery in any given practice area. Our membership in local and international networks has put us in a good stead to discover the changes in time and apply them to our business endeavors and that of our Clients. This has equipped us to provide modern legal services in Nigeria’s ever changing economy.
Q. What is the most important factor that contributes to your success?
We offer an array of legal services in support of our Clients’ businesses. We consistently proffer commercially focused, time and cost effective as well as result oriented legal advice to challenging commercial transaction and disputes. We combine industry-leading insight with responsiveness in a way that promotes our Clients’ interests.
