Midsize to large companies need to make the most of their data. Driving data analyses-linked efficiencies demands cost effective, speedy, and flexible management of data.

In-memory computing delivers precisely this, and more, centered on the power to make sense of millions of numbers within fractions of a second.

GridGain® Systems is a leader in the in-memory computing platform market as demonstrated by the extensive lists of major GridGain customers and GridGain business awards. The GridGain in-memory computing platform, built on Apache® Ignite™, addresses the application speed and scalability needs of the digital enterprise and today's Fast Data challenges.

Companies undergoing digital transformations often experience performance and scalability limitations with their existing applications. The massive amounts of data generated by their applications overwhelm their existing architecture, preventing them from processing data in real-time to meet end-user performance requirements. Limits on performance and scalability prevent enterprises from capitalizing on trends, introducing new features, and gaining real-time business insights based on the massive amount of data generated by their applications. Their architectures prevent them from fully using their data to meet end-user performance requirements, capitalize on business opportunities, and gain the crucial insights that allow them to make the right business decisions in real-time.

GridGain In-Memory Data

The GridGain® in-memory computing platform includes an in-memory data grid which improves the performance of applications built on disk-based databases by more than 1,000x by removing the delays inherent in accessing disk-based data. Inserted between the application and data layers, GridGain creates a copy of disk-based data from RDBMS, NoSQL or Hadoop databases in RAM. In addition to the high performance GridGain in-memory data grid, the GridGain in-memory computing platform includes powerful features such as an in-memory database, streaming analytics, and a continuous learning framework for machine and deep learning.

The GridGain in-memory data grid is horizontally scalable with support for adding nodes in real-time. It can linearly scale to thousands of nodes with strong semantics for data locality and affinity data routing to reduce redundant data noise.

GridGain Developer Bundles

GridGain Developer Bundles include Support, Consulting and Training for the GridGain Community or Enterprise Edition. The bundle for GridGain Community Edition is highly relevant for companies building applications on Apache Ignite® as well. The new Developer Bundles can help companies implementing Apache Ignite or GridGain speed the development and rollout of their real-time, massively scalable applications. In-depth developer training for your engineering team can significantly reduce the learning curve for your team while consulting assistance with common challenges such as architectural reviews and performance optimizations can result in optimal performance. Once live, the support services ensure that any issues that arise in your pre-production or production deployments can be submitted for review and resolution to the GridGain customer engineering team.

GridGain for z/OS

GridGain for z/OS is a mainframe-optimized version of the GridGain in-memory computing platform for use on the IBM® z/OS operating system. GridGain for z/OS enables businesses to quickly, seamlessly create solutions for efficient digital transformation of core systems as well as running analytics across their entire data estate to power real-time business processes. The IBM z/OS runs on IBM mainframes and, when using IBM z Integrated Information Processors (zIIPs), runs Java-based applications including the GridGain in-memory computing platform.

The IBM Z platform is used by 44 of the top 50 global banks, 4 of the top 5 airlines, and two-thirds of the Fortune 100. Across the world, IBM Z powers the most critical business systems for top enterprises with 4.1 million core business transactions per second run on IBM Z.

GridGain Managed Services

GridGain® Systems offers highly responsive, reliable managed services – known as GridGain Nebula – for the Apache Ignite® and GridGain in-memory computing platforms at a fraction of the cost of staffing an internal team. Gridgain can manage your environment 24x7, whether on-premises, on a private or public cloud, or on a hybrid environment

The company’s Managed Services Offering (MSO) team offloads the management of your environment, allowing your team to focus on building high performance, highly scalable digital solutions. The highly experienced GridGain Nebula team takes over the management, monitoring, and maintenance of your environment with SLAs that meet the needs of your business. Best-in-class automation and proven system management practices ensure the availability, scalability, and compliance to data security and privacy standards that your organization requires.

The GridGain® Continuous Learning Framework includes the Apache® Ignite™ integrated machine learning and multilayer perceptron for deep learning features. As part of the GridGain in-memory computing platform, these features make continuous learning based on the in-memory operational dataset possible using machine learning and deep learning directly in GridGain. These machine learning and deep learning libraries have been optimized for massively parallel processing (MPP) against the data in the GridGain cluster. By leveraging MPP, large-scale machine learning can be greatly accelerated to train models much faster.

Transactional Persistence Storage

When using Transactional Persistence, GridGain stores all data in your cluster on persistent storage, whether spinning disks, solid state drives (SSDs), Flash, 3D XPoint or other similar storage technologies. You then configure your system to also cache some or all of your data in memory. The system preferentially processes requests against the data in memory. Processing against data in memory provides optimal performance but you can trade off system performance versus cost by deciding how much of your data to continuously cache in RAM.

With Transactional Persistence enabled, you do not need to keep all active data in memory or warm up your RAM following a cluster restart to utilize the system’s in-memory computing capabilities. The GridGain Ultimate Edition includes backup and recovery features which are recommended for running Transactional Persistence in production environments.

Howdy chief!

Meet the Expert

Abe Kleinfeld serves as GridGain’s President & CEO and has transformed the company into the leading in-memory computing platform provider. Since joining in 2013, Abe has led the company through five years of triple-digit average annual growth, $29M in Series B venture financing and numerous awards including being named to the Inc. 500 list of America’s fastest growing private companies for the past two years. GridGain is also known for founding and producing the annual In-Memory Computing Summit, the world’s first and only in-memory computing conference.

Prior to joining GridGain, Abe was president & CEO of network security leader nCircle, a company he led from early stage with a handful of customers through ten consecutive years of revenue growth, five consecutive years of profitability, two acquisitions and over 6,500 enterprise customers worldwide. In April, 2013, nCircle was acquired by Tripwire.
