“We work with clients, conduct research based on big data, and optimize processes when changes are required.”

In the world of digital marketing, AI can streamline and optimize marketing campaigns. It can also eliminate the risk of human error. While much of the digital marketing world is still dependent on human ingenuity, an AI program might be able to generate a report using nothing but data.

In light of the foregoing, we’re pleased to present iAge Technologies.

iAge Technologies is an AI and website development company. Its mission is to reshape email marketing and business strategies through AI technologies. iAge Technologies is powered by an ambitious team, every member of which is a perfect blend of expertise and creativity. The company builds AI-based solutions and content strategies that can power businesses by maximizing the value that each user offers over a lifetime, by turning one-time visitors into loyal subscribers, and, finally, by creating an effective marketing strategy to support any business goals.

Over the past few years, iAge Technologies has also created a whole universe of edutaining online projects for people of various ages and spheres of interest. Every day, the company grows its hyper-engaged audience by delivering the right content at the right time and employing a cross-channel communications strategy. As a result, iAge has hit one million subscribers in less than three years!

iAge Technologies was established in 2011 and is headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia.

Artem Kukharenko, iAge Technologies CEO, spoke exclusively to The Silicon Review. Below is an excerpt.

Why was the company set up? And how did you expand your company and its offerings over the years?

I founded iAge Technologies to develop digital products and automation for them. In the first years of operation, the company created an array of websites in different verticals to attract customers and supply their needs and then designed numerous solutions to optimize the work. As time passed and the number of projects increased, it has become essential to adopt the philosophy of 1:1 communication and to create algorithm-based solutions. By this time, Denis Uspenskiy and Tatyana Murzova joined me in the company management. Their joint efforts helped to design and implement one of the most successful solutions to the in-house projects to test and tweak. After that, the solution was introduced to various markets, where it proved to be quite successful.

The AI algorithms applied to email marketing communications with subscribers helped us to double the revenue. Our company worked with several clients and their numerous projects consisting of various websites –60 in total. Manual delivery control was a time-consuming task for our managers; at times, its results were not perfect. That’s why we decided to systematize and automate the email delivery process. We created algorithms for various delivery optimization modules: monitoring of and reaction to technical settings, the optimal retry strategy, anomaly detection, checking for compliance with Spam Assassin and other filters, and blacklisted resource exclusion.

The development, implementation, and debugging took about a year. But once the work was completed, the AI-based solution improved our email campaign results and allowed our email managers to get more time to analyze our campaign results and progress, make corresponding improvements, and work with other marketing verticals. This achievement enabled the company to try new growth options.

What challenges did you face in your initial years?

Challenge 1: An increase in the number of projects does not lead to profit growth, but rather to a decrease in quality. The solution for this was the project maintenance automation, which allowed us to minimize the time spent on establishing delivery and setting up campaigns.

Challenge 2: When our new product XR (https://engagemktg.com) was ready to be demonstrated to external clients, we faced some difficulties finding the first clients due to the lack of recommendations and reviews. Regular participation in exhibitions and product presentations improved the situation over time. We spoke about the new philosophy of user communications where AI algorithms could independently (without human assistance) select the content, the frequency, and the time of interactions for each subscriber.

Challenge 3: A growing audience increases the system load, which drives architectural changes. Ensuring uninterrupted and efficient operation of the system became a problem for technical experts. However, it was also a motivating factor for our team, as nothing motivates more than a sought-after product.

How do you stay relevant to the consumer interests and needs in this highly volatile market?

When you mainly focus on solving your users’ problems and providing them with valuable communications, staying relevant is not an acute issue. We study user behavior patterns and optimize the algorithms we use for the best results. Much effort is put into the creation of content for communication: our experienced writers examine the clients’ product, understand their methods, and only after that create content for communication. The marketing understanding of the product and the target audience, combined with the use of algorithms, allows us to give users what they need and build customer loyalty for the clients’ brands.

If you have to list five success factors, what would they be and why?

  • Research and testing make us flexible and help to prioritize our efforts correctly;

  • Corporate culture unites the team, helps to develop solutions, to find answers to difficult questions, to focus on essential issues, to build trust within the organization;

  • Professionalism allows everyone to do quality work;

  • Education enables us to develop each team member’s professionalism, to do high-quality work in all areas, to generate innovative ideas;

  • Legislation helps to build trust with clients and partners, comply with the rules and regulations of the various countries in which we operate.

Customer service varies, but companies can still be successful. How do you maintain your customers’ trust and loyalty?

Every day, regardless of weekends or holidays, we are in touch with our clients. We work to achieve results, and, together with clients, we discuss our progress and future lines of development. The collaboration helps us to work as a united team and have an understanding of the importance of what we do and our responsibilities.

Do you have any new products ready to be launched?

We are engaged in continuing the development of the AI-powered solution for marketing (https://engagemktg.com), and according to our roadmap (that is, using an individual development strategy for each client), we will continue to improve the current product for our clients and the company’s in-house projects. Our algorithms that accurately calculate the value of the business and its potential profit replace marketing experts in the field of content writing, increase sales, expand communication channels, and improve content monetization – this is what both our clients and we want. Thus, our current product has an evolutionary path to follow.

The new product we are considering at the moment is an ML-based solution for digital marketing experts. It will be able to solve a vast number of applied problems, such as increasing conversion through advanced segmentation, mapping out the content to maximize content distribution, and estimating the lifetime value for business valuation.

Where do you see your company a couple of years from now?

We are determined to continue preaching the philosophy of user communications with the use of algorithms. Our goal is to shed light on how useful AI is by educating business owners and marketers to help them cut their costs by employing AI.

“AI does not need humans to decide which content suits each individual user best and how often it should be sent. It can do more than simply build marketing campaigns - AI can develop and carry out personalized communications with individual subscribers, each with its own frequency and content.”
