USDA Issues Recall for Frozen ...To identify the recalled taquitos, customers should check for the establishment number EST. P-40327 on the packaging
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a recall for over 24,000 pounds of Aldi's popular frozen Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos after metal fragments were discovered in the product. The recall follows a customer complaint regarding a metal piece found in one of the taquitos. The affected product is sold in 20-ounce packages and was produced between July 3, 2024, and September 25, 2024. These taquitos were distributed nationwide across all Aldi stores. Although it is unlikely that the product remains on store shelves, FSIS is concerned that some of the taquitos may still be in customers’ freezers.
To identify the recalled taquitos, customers should check for the establishment number EST. P-40327 on the packaging, along with best-by dates of either July 3, 2025, or September 25, 2025. The USDA has posted images of the recalled product's labels on its website for further reference. It is important to note that this recall is limited solely to the Casa Mamita Chicken & Cheese Taquitos. No other flavors of Casa Mamita taquitos or other Aldi products are affected. Consumers who have purchased the affected product are urged not to consume the taquitos and to either dispose of them or return them to their local Aldi store for a full refund. The recall follows reports of a dental injury linked to the consumption of the product.
If you have concerns about possible injuries related to this recall, contact your healthcare provider. The USDA also encourages those who have experienced any adverse reactions from consuming the taquitos to file a report through the USDA's Electronic Consumer Complaint Form.
