Globally various governments have issued strict safety standards in regards to consumer products built within their jurisdiction. From cars to toys to medications, we can, up to some extent, be certain that the products we buy and use every day are safe. But this completely changes when it comes to guns. Beyond ensuring that a firearm can just do its job without mechanical defects, better gun designs and attachments must be released to improve convenience. This will also reduce the number of incidents that leads to accidental gun death and injuries.

The company focuses on creating and developing products in the firearms and sporting goods industry that increase the user’s capabilities through the product. Devil Dog Concepts™ also has moved into offering a selection of other brand products through its e-commerce store and is in the process of helping other inventors bring their products to reality through the company’s networks.

In conversation with Camaron Hillman, President and CEO of Devil Dog Concepts™

Q. What was the motivation behind starting Devil Dog Concepts™?

Devil Dog Concepts™ started out of a necessity to find a better way of performing a function highly required to increase your chances of survival in a bad situation. After spending years on a local Police SWAT Team, I was unhappy with the current operational setup of my service firearm and sought out to find a better way. After negative results finding anything in the market, I set out to create it for myself. The result of the invention, the Hard Charger®, led to the development of our company, Devil Dog Concepts™.

Tell us about the affordability of your product and targeted consumers.

We do everything we can to bring a solid, reliable product to market at the most affordable price. Sometimes this takes a lot of extra work, utilization of multiple channels, and even a lesser margin for us. We focus primarily on the Military and Law Enforcement market as well as the Competition and Enthusiast markets.

Tell us about your inventory management system.

Systems and structure are key to optimal performance and customer satisfaction. You must always plan ahead and strategize. We conduct regular strategy sessions to ensure the best we can possibly offer for our customers.

Q. What are the areas covered by your patent? And how well has the patent contributed to your success?

We have three patents at this time and multiple more filed while working on additional ones to be filed soon. The assurance of intellectual property protection is key to a business like ours. It would also be key to other small businesses that develop products. To put it short, when you’re our size, it gives us a fighting chance and protection. Patents are a great thing.

Q. What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful CEO?

The ability to make decisions rapidly and confidently while being able to back them up as to your reasoning. See everything from a “40,000” foot view and strategize that perspective for your company’s current, near and long-term future. Be present and there for your team- you need them more than they need you.

Q. What do you think is the most memorable moment in your career?

Hard to say what is the most memorable. Making my first sale was truly amazing to have someone other than myself want my product. The issuance of my first patent was a personal achievement I was amazed at. Having my product debuted in a hit TV series and published in magazines was really amazing. So many great things have created so many memorable moments it is hard to focus on anyone. I would have to say we are just blessed and grateful.

Q. How do you market your services?

We utilize many of the common channels, from social media to email campaigns. However, one of our greatest marketing strategies has been our customer service. Our customers are amazing and carry us along. They support us greatly, and we do whatever we can to ensure they are more than happy.

Q. Do you have any new services ready to be launched?

We are in the development of a few new products – a couple never before seen and amazing new developments and one much-anticipated product. We feel very strongly that our customers are going to be very happy soon! Additional new stuff from partners at Devil Dog Concepts™ is our jewelry company, Riegel Fine Jewelry, where we are developing a type of franchise that will bring additional revenue streams to specific current small business owners. We also offer over 100,000 jewelry options and styles, as well as custom builds.

Q. What does the future hold for Devil Dog Concepts and its customers? Are exciting things on the way?

Only time will tell what the future really brings. We plan to bring to the customer what they ask of us to the best of our ability and continue to develop new and amazing products. We are working to be an outlet for the everyday person who has a great idea for our industry and needs a way to make it a reality. We want to be a one-stop-shop for that person and their idea, bring it to life, and help them also feel how we felt when we first brought the Hard Charger® to the market.

Q. Finally, would you like to say something to the readers?
