The Silicon Review
Technology plays an important role in almost every sector by opening doors to newer opportunities and easing core functions for us. It has taken down tall barriers and helped us re-imagine the way we function in this world, making our lives convenient, flexible, and faster in various ways. From fashion to food, every industry was revolutionized from technology, and real estate is no exception. Even during critical periods like the COVID crisis, technology has successfully bridged the gap between buyers and developers. Digital platforms are used by real estate personnel to connect buyers and sellers to make purchases from the comfort of their homes, and developments in data analytics have furthermore proven to be a savior for the real estate segment.
The use of Proptech has significantly improved real estate management (REM), and it is also helping businesses to be more agile and faster. Globally, there are various companies that specialize in providing excellent solutions to the real estate segment, but Mallcomm stands out from the rest. Mallcomm streamlines everyday tasks, joins up stakeholders, and generates new insight for more efficient and effective operations. The platform seamlessly connects all built environment communities: occupiers, operations, suppliers, consumers, and other stakeholders. By transforming the users’ experience of the space, Mallcomm creates loyalty by connecting people to places while delivering efficient operations, significant budget savings, and valuable insights.
In conversation with Michelle Buxton, Founder and CEO of Mallcomm
Q. How does Mallcomm place special emphasis on security through its platform?
There is much more to security management in retail environments than mass notifications. Mallcomm enables real-time communication to keep the right people up to date with the information they need to make informed and rapid decisions. Mallcomm gives the power to property teams to manage situations whether they are onsite or remote and provides tools to communicate more effectively with security teams to simplify everyday challenges.
Q. Tell us how Mallcomm supports the creation of a real estate community.
The platform seamlessly connects all built environment communities: occupiers, operations, suppliers, consumers, and other stakeholders. By transforming the users’ experience of the space, Mallcomm creates loyalty by connecting people to places while delivering efficient operations, significant budget savings, and valuable insights.
Q. With the ease of using any services, there often comes the cost to pay of losing some vital customization features. How flexible is your service for customization?
Built-up of a variety of versatile modules, Mallcomm provides solutions across all areas of property management. By understanding our clients’ needs, we can recommend the best configuration for their property and build the platform accordingly. In addition to the base product, we also offer white-label products, which utilize the same functionality but feature bespoke design and branding of the platform for the client.
Q. How have emerging technologies contributed to the success of your business?
Emerging technologies are having a huge impact on our client’s businesses. The introduction of electric vehicles and therefore parking services are very important as our automated processes and controls. Our focus is on ensuring we harness this technology but keep it real for our customers to help them operate their business better.
Q. Tell us about your content development. What are the factors that will contribute to the engagement level?
The Mallcomm platform enables multiple stakeholders from various sections of a real estate community to upload content to the platform. Building and mall management teams are able to use the platform to upload documents, essential messaging, marketing updates and events in order to deliver information to their community, but it is also common for users to upload content too. For example, in a retail environment store managers are able to and will often upload offers or special events for the rest of the community to enjoy - this type of content increases engagement and increases loyalty by encouraging staff to shop within the building which they work.
Q. How do you source quality individuals to maintain the standard of your services?
Our people are everything. We have a team of experts working across the globe in order to maintain and support our growing global customer base. We are in the fortunate position whereby our reputation and position within the market means that we naturally attract the most talented individuals to join our teams around the world.
Q. What does the future hold for your company and its customers? Are exciting things on the way?
We are always evolving and bringing out new features. With the challenges of the commercial real estate industry during the pandemic, we have created a number of tools to help with remote working, streamlining operational activity, and security.
