NMS Consulting was founded in 2018 as a result of NMS Capital Group spinning off its consulting practice and is headquartered in Beverly Hills, California. It has additional office locations in San Francisco, Washington D.C., New York, London, Dubai and Hong Kong, with plans to open an additional office in India soon.

Trevor M. Saliba, NMS Consulting, Inc. Managing Partner / CEO, spoke exclusively to The Silicon Review. Below is an excerpt.

Q. Why was the company set up? How did you select the services and business structure to serve clients as part of a global platform?

NMS Consulting was formed to fill a void in the global market place where lower middle market firms can gain access to experienced and qualified consulting and advisory services without having to go to large firms, which usually comes with higher fees. In today’s global market place, technology has created not only a flat world but a closely connected world. We are able to work with clients literally in any country, but more importantly service those client relationships in a way that would have normally been prohibitive in the past, either as a result of a need to be face to face and/or an understanding that most work can be done just about anywhere. By taking all of the best attributes of large global law, accounting and consulting firms, we have an ecosystem that provided proven results for small firms of up to 5-50 employees and even much larger firms.

Q. Tell us about the services you provide to clients?

We are a global strategic advisory firm providing professional services to clients spread across three business units: Management Consulting, Corporate Advisory and Strategic Communications.

Q. How successful was your business launch? Share the experience?

We have seen a tremendous positive response from clients since launching, which is good in the sense that there is high new client demand and it allows us to be selective in who we work with, yet bad in that we have to be selective by not taking on too many clients too quickly to ensure our ability to continue delivering the “high touch” of services.

Q. What do you feel are the reasons behind:

Your clients responding positively -- As a service organization, our ability to be flexible and responsive is the key. Moreover, being willing to be accountable, even when it’s difficult is what clients value.

Your growth as an organization -- Fortunately, our people and corporate culture are able to attract like-minded professionals. In addition, as much as there is a void for clients, I feel there is also a void for the professional consultants who are looking for an organization that is more collaborative than adversarial and competitive internally.

Q. What drives/inspires you to excel in your field of business?  

At the end of the day, if we have done our job, we have not only helped our client, but we have helped them reach their goals and make them a better organization.

Q. Do you have any new services ready to be rolled out into the market?

While we have core services within our business units, we are quickly identifying the need to expand the services within the units either by scope or sector.

Q. Where do you see your company a couple of years from now?

We expect our business to continue on its strong growth trajectory; to be a much larger industry player.

Trevor M. Saliba: An Entrepreneur at Heart

Trevor M. Saliba is the Managing Partner and CEO of NMS Consulting. He is also Chairman / CEO of NMS Capital Group, a global-focused merchant banking and private equity firm. Prior to founding NMS Capital Group, Mr. Saliba was Managing Director-Asia Pacific for a London based hedge fund with over $800 million in assets under management. Prior to that, he served as the principal advisor to a Los Angeles family office advising on both public and private investments, private equity, real estate and venture capital. He began his financial services career with Morgan Stanley.

Mr. Saliba is an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Executive Education Program and holds a Master’s Degree in Finance and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and a Milken Institute Associate.
