The Silicon Review
Be it a personal celebration or a wedding, or a corporate gathering, photos are considered to be an important part of every event. Irrespective of the event, it is highly advisable to hire a professional photo booth to capture high-quality pictures. Events are very special for us, and we can preserve the memory from that event with a Photo Booth. Previously, people used to hire a professional photographer to capture or record an event for prosperity. However, this culture is changing, and people are now installing a photo booth at events. Usually, in an event, only a few people will be highlighted by a photographer while the rest of the guests are sitting bored, waiting for their turn. When you set up a photo booth, the whole atmosphere will stay alive as visitors will be in fun mode by clicking pictures with interesting props and frames. There are various creative photo booth manufacturers globally, but one that stands out from the rest is Photo Booth International.
Photo Booth International is a photo booth sales company based in Dallas, TX. After servicing hundreds of events, they noticed an increase in guests asking where they can get their hands on their own photo booth. One year later, Photo Booth International was founded, and since then, they have had tremendous growth in product knowledge and customer support. If you’re looking for a turnkey, realistic business opportunity, look no further. Photo Booth International has what you’re looking for.
In conversation with Josh Pather, President of Photo Booth International
Q. Why should someone start a photo booth rental business now?
The event rental and entertainment industry is something that will never go away - the opportunity is huge! There are millions of events that happen every year in every single city all over the world. Over the last several years, photo booths have become a staple for all types of events, such as weddings, birthdays, and even corporate events. This means there will always be a need for a photo booth. The investment is relatively low compared to other startups, and you can pay it off in a matter of a handful of events. You also don’t need to be a photography expert to be able to operate a photo booth. The system is so streamlined that anybody with little experience can operate it! On top of all of that, working a photo booth rental event is a lot of fun that it doesn’t even feel like work. You get to meet new people, get to know your own city, and help them capture the special moments that will last a lifetime.
Q. You offer a wide range of photo booths, how do you match a customer to the right photo booth?
We offer a wide range of photo booth options because we understand that each client will have different needs pertaining to the size/weight and the type of market they want to reach. We have some extremely compact models, such as Cloee, which can fit in the trunk of a small four-door vehicle, and we also have other models such as our Mirror 3 and Astro Booth that require a van or large vehicle for transport. We also know that many new photo booth owners will work their own events, so they need something that will be easy to set up and will not require any tools. We take time to really get to know our customers and what they need so that we can match them to the right photo booth for them.
Q. What sets Photo Booth International apart from the competition?
When someone buys a booth from us, they are not only buying a photo booth; they are joining our family - we call it our #PBIFamily. We pride ourselves in providing not only the photo booth but also the tools, resources, and community so that every customer has the roadmap to success. Because we know what it’s like to go out there and work events every weekend, we are able to share the exact tips and tricks that helped us grow our business to 7 figures. We also have a showroom where we get to show our photo booths in-person to people that fly in from all over the country.
Q. What are the factors that contribute to the success of your business?
Doing whatever it takes and having the right team. Taking risks in business is important, and even when you are scared, it’s important to take the risk - often, the reward is very much worth it in the end. Having the right team has also been extremely important in the success of my business. I work alongside my wife and business partner, Jazmine Pather. She has been a great support system and partner since the inception of the photo booth rental business. Together, we are able to make decisions that greatly affect the business. We are able to help more people as a team, and that’s what truly matters.
Q. What does the future hold for Photo Booth International and its customers? Are exciting things on the way?
We are always coming up with new photo booth ideas and concepts to keep up with new trends. We know that “one booth does not fit all”, so we pride ourselves in providing a wide range of the latest photo booth options catered for all types of entrepreneurs. Keep a lookout for our new photo booths for 2021!
Meet the leader behind the success of Photo Booth International
Josh Pather was born in South Africa and came to the United States in 2001 with nothing more than a few bags and a strong desire to succeed. On the plane as he walked to his uncomfortable seat in coach he said to himself, “One day I am going to travel business class and never go back.”
Mr. Pather has shown an incredible sense of business acumen from a young age. He began his career in junior high mowing lawns, after he had a neighbor show him how to do a great job at it. He didn’t last long mowing lawns though, as he quickly saw an opportunity in selling shoes he sourced from China at a 300% markup in high school. This is when he built his first website, during a period of massive internet growth in 2006 which created incredible opportunities with new platforms such as Alibaba. People at the local Western Union would give him odd glances as a high school student sending cash to China. He was finding a lot of success in this endeavor especially for a kid still in high school. What Josh didn’t know at the time was he had built a business around what we now call drop-shipping. This is where Mr. Pather met his first major challenge in business though. One day when he got home from school he opened a letter to find out he was being sued by Nike for $50,000. Getting slapped with a 50 thousand dollar lawsuit as an 18-year-old was unnerving. His instinct told him though that it would pass through, and it did. After settling the case for $5,000, and graduating from high school, he thought he’d try out a more traditional route with regular employment. He got a job at a local bank, but his entrepreneurial spirit quickly got the best of him again. He started a DJ business with a friend from the bank, and soon they were doing events together. Josh achieved success as a DJ and was invited to open for Dash Berlin, one of the top-5 DJs in the world.
