IVD Reagents and Assays: Prestige Diagnostics manufactures a range of around 40 clinical chemistry reagent kits which enable clients to test for a wide range of conditions, diseases, and infections. They range from albumin to urine CSF protein and are used in the diagnosis and assessment of conditions and diseases such as abnormal levels of calcium, chloride, cholesterol, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, total protein or uric acid, blood disorders, damage to heart muscle cells, damage to or degeneration of skeletal muscles, heart muscles or brain tissue, damage to the body’s tissues, including those in the blood, heart, kidneys, brain and lungs, diabetes, high risk of a heart attack or stroke, kidney disease, liver disease, and pancreatitis. Along with these, the clients will also find calibration serum and clinical chemical assay controls.

Blood grouping reagents are used to identify different blood types. It is essential to ensure that the blood patients receive from donors is compatible with their own. The specialist range of clinical blood grouping agents available at Prestige Diagnostics include  Anti-human globulin (AHG) for Coombs tests, Monoclonal anti-A, anti-B and anti-AB reagents for determining ABO blood groups, Monoclonal anti-D reagents for determining the Rh factor, and Monoclonal grouping kits for determining ABO blood groups and the Rh factor.

Agglutination, or clumping, occurs when an antigen comes into contact with its corresponding antibody. Prestige Diagnostics offers three different agglutination test kits that range from febrile antigens where the kits are used, for example, to identify brucella, proteus, salmonella and rickettsia infections. Latex serology kits where the range includes kits used to identify streptococcal infections, levels of C-reactive protein that would indicate high levels of inflammation in the body and rheumatoid factors that would indicate a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. Syphilis reagents kits are used to detect antibodies to syphilis and Treponema pallidum.

Coagulation is the process by which blood clots are formed, thus preventing blood loss after a wound or an operation. The organization specializes in APTT, PT High sens reagents, and its coagulation reagents can be used to screen for coagulation disorders. Coagulation defects can cause haemorrhaging or thrombosis and are categorized as platelet disorders, which can be either congenital or acquired and coagulation factor disorders, the best known of which is haemophilia.

Specific Pathogen Detection kits can be designed to detect specific genetic sequences unique to particular pathogens, enabling precise identification of the causative agents of disease.
